It was a little bit of a redirection effort...
It will get there when it gets there.  Am very looking forward to them myself...L3000.gif
Oh, then I welcome the redirection! I did not mean to stir up that kind of drama, especially since it was my mistaken assumption.

I'm happy to be able to get my hand on these babies in the near(ish?) future! smily_headphones1.gif They may even inspire me to write a review, who knows.

I just bought a Leckerton UHA760 to try out with these and my UE7's will be comparing it to my DIY Zenhead which is very nice with the UE7's so far with both my Studio V 3rd anv. and DX50.

What amps/DAC/Daps are the rest of you going to be using?

I'm contemplating getting the new Sony ZX1, but for now I'll be using my iPhone 5 with the HiFi M8.

C5D/UHA-4/O2 with DX50/Ipod Classic. How is the UHA-760? Which opamp did choose?

I have not heard it yet, but did listen to the UHA6 MKII and I liked what I heard.  I got it with the ADA4627-1B (BRZ).  I also just noticed that there will an bigger brother coming out that adds the optical and coax back in.  I like the new features of the amp, digital volume control and crossfeed. My zenhead, being older school, has a slight issue with imbalance at very low volumes.  Need to crack it open and tweak a few things.

Clearly not, the # of leads to each ear piece couldn't support a full outboard xover. You'd need 4 to each ear for a 3way and 5 wires for what Jerry is doing with the bass.

As this is pure conjecture , I am interested in how 4 wires to a 3 cross over ba drivers is not enough.

My UM PP6 has only 4 wires to each IEM. And it is ? Am I. Missing something ?

4 wires to a 3 cross over ba drivers is definitively enough !

Haha... great news to hear they started shipping:)!

I must be spending hours on this thread daily... trying to catch every update immediately haha. While the wait is agonizing, imagining how they would sound is also somewhat fun.

Every positive impression is like eye candy to me right now:) so hope to see some great impressions next week:)!

You would need 4 wires per side for a typical 2 way with outboard Xover and the second set of adjustable woofers would need their own separate wire as well. 5 to each shell, that is, if you like stereo. I'm not sure how many wires go to each shell but I don't think it's 5.

Good vibes not trying to be rude but I must be missing something.

4 seems fine for me. The 4 th wire is to the bass BA drivers and is controlled
In the crossover. Why do you think they need more ??

So I auditioned a pair of JH16s and Roxannes today, and compared them to my SE535s.

The last time I had heard the 16s (FP version), I had really enjoyed them.   However, after comparing them to the Roxannes, they seem thin and lacking in body.  What the Roxannes bring in is a lot of bass.   As in, down to the bottom octave - listening to Saint Saens Organ Symphony (Munch), I was hearing a depth that my 535s didnt have, and which exceeded that of the FP16s.    The bass bump extends up a couple of octaves as well.   But this actually sounds quite good - it adds body to a lot of music.   And of course, b/c the bass is adjustable, you can always turn it down if you want (I tried the headphones with bass at the half-way point).

I also listened to a pair of Noble K10s earlier.   Initially, they left me a little underwhelmed but i rapidly changed my mind after listening a little more critically.   They lack the visceral impact of the Roxannes, but IMO, are a little more refined and hi-fi.   The bass is leaner, but instrument separation is better, and the attack/decay of the notes is a little more lifelike.

It's going to be a really tough decision, picking one of these two!
