New JH Audio flagship! "Siren Series Roxanne" - Page 91

I read in a local forum that JH brings 5 pairs of universal Roxanne for demo during this weekend Mook Headphone festival in Singapore.
So far, no quick review yet tongue.gif

All I'm saying is I'm offended by the blatant sexism of the JH video advert. It's a subtle but substantial distinction, and although it won't offend everyone, it very insulting to many potential customers, whatever demographic they may happen to be a part of.

I don't wish to derail the thread (hopefully, my recent posts in this thread will make it apparent that I am contributing sincerely to the thread, with the best interests of all, at heart), but, in a brief digression, I feel justified in making the point that this kind of marketing is outdated, outmoded, and offensive to a significant number of people. I also realised, from the outset, that I would catch some flak for publicly stating my opinion, but I stand by what I said.

Jesus christ people are so sensitive. People like you are the reason kids can't even celebrate Christmas in kindergartens anymore because it's "offensive" to kids of other religions. If you don't like it, close it and move on. Everything in this world will be banned soon.

Why not celebrate each religion's holiday so they share it to others outside their religion instead of banning religion-specific celebrations?

Can someone going to the MOOK ask JH what is causing all the delays ??

Someone were comparing K10 to the Roxannes on the Singapore local forum, claiming that the K10 has significantly better treble and bass extensions.

I'm not sure about the accuracy of the claim, especially considering the use of "significantly". One thing I do notice tho, the K10 is using the Sony Hybrid tips, while the Roxanne is using comply tips, which are known to have a dampening effect on the treble.

In the end, my ears will be the ultimate judge. Till then, keep the impressions coming!

I am also offended by the ad. That woman is too thin for my taste, she needs some more meat on them bones... like a very wise man once said, " I like big butts and I cannot lie..."

Well, a casual user says only good things about treble, mids and bass in a slightly earlier post while another who borrowed his friends K10 with custom cable says that the Roxannes are far inferior in soundstage, imaging, details, treble. Everything except the bass(but not the bass extension??) and that the LSX is much better value. I'll be quite keen to see what's the general consensus since I'llstill deciding whether to go CIEM from my present triple fi smily_headphones1.gif

and international dealers are still awaiting for their Roxanne universal demo to arrive..... xD maybe JH plans to send off those demo units at Mook when its over to the dealers

Finally listened to Roxanne this morning. Excellent as expected. Also get a chance to listen to K10 as well as the 8C, which I prefer the later. I don't have a lot of time with them so no detail comparison from me, but I think it is pretty safe to say they are all excellent in their own right and worthy being referred as top tier, though none is noticeably better than others. The variable bass on the Roxanne does work really well, from neutral to very bassy and it is fairly easy to find the level of liking.

Just out of curiosity, has Jerry made any remarks about whether the Roxanne Universal sounds the same as the CIEM, or if they are intended to be different 'flavours' of sound?

I mean, one would tend to assume that they are at least intended to sound pretty much the same, but, as they are so fond of saying in managerial circles, 'assume' makes an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me'...
