New JH Audio flagship! "Siren Series Roxanne" - Page 75

As I have the jh16/3A combo. I wait for the review of people who have the. New combo

But I think people here should consider the combo if they do not have an amp and DAC
To drive them now. When I bought them I was very happy with the combo
And to get it to sound that good or improve cast me about
1200 $. So keep this in mind people. The combo
Should work very well and us a cheaper option to achieve
A good sound for there IEM s.

I heard an interesting phrase in JH interview about the 4 wires connector of the ROXANE:

" 4 wires for ground-low-mid-high....right now we only take advantage of the  "low " for the  " variable bass output ".

"Right now" ! .... :-)  does this means that some more sophisticated electronic devices will be optionnel in the future to be associated to the ROXANE ? Like a "super JH-3A " ?

Yes.

Note: that is only my opinion, but I'm extremely confident that the Roxanne will have an active-crossover option available at some point in the future (even if Jerry doesn't do it, someone surely will!).

Forgive my 'noobism' but what does this mean?

Does this mean that we can expect that not only the Bass will be variable but mids and high as well?

I agree with that statement. But as the amp will drive them
The crossover is in the bass control modual. And as for jh doing it with adjustments
I. A not see why not. Totally tune able cross over would be cool.

How much for the 3 A for the Roxanne s anyway

The 3A will work with the Roxanne. Count on it.

Yes, but not necessarily in a 'user-adjustable' manner (maybe; maybe not).

The Roxanne, as it is, has a passive crossover module in the cable, which, as it stands, does permit user-adjustment of the bass response.

However, if driven by a dedicated amp, with discrete amplification, and control, of each frequency band, it might be more likely that the adjustment would be done in a pre-determined software patch.

Ultimately, adjustment could be offered with hardware controls, or it could be offered in a less user-adjustable form with a software implementation. It's actually not beyond the realms of possibility that users could be provided with a means of adjusting a software patch to their taste, using a computer, and then uploading this to the amp. It really very much depends on the design of the amplification hardware, and I'm not personally familiar with the the current design of the JH3a, so others will know better than I how Jerry has, thus far, shown his intentions in the realm of active amplification of CIEMs. Is the JH3a a digital crossover design?

At the very least, the fact that the Roxanne has a seperate wire/connection for bass/mid/treble means that these wires can be addressed in more than one possible manner. So the options are open as to how they can be addressed by active amp/crossover hardware higher up the chain.

.

Sounds good:) thanks for explaining!

Others with experience of the JH3a will be able to provide a more satisfactory explanation ;)

MYTHON

I think all you said is true and detailed.  my opinion is the 3a is a very good bargain . it is portable too.  it has 3 inputs 2 digital and one analog . so using you iphone or any phone is a definite with this amp, no aggravation of the device working with apple or android. I really do think it is a great buy as a package. there is some threads about the jh16/3a combo . And the his and gain issues you might read have been fixed a long time ago  so don't fret. I am thinking though if it happens it will have to be a complete set of wires and terminated with the 8 pin connector . mine has this and an adaptor that converts it to standard 3.5   3 conductor headphone jack.

Has anyone heard if or when the amp will be available ???

Hey,

Since we are talking about roxannes amps, are there any good options apart from JH3A?

like other high end amplifiers from different companies ?

These are my first CIEMS, i currently use Shure SE535, and once i found out about the Roxannes i ordered them. Never used an amplifier for earphones so no clue.

But would the Roxanne require an amplifier and if yes, then which other companies off high end portable amplifiers best suited for the Roxanne??

Thank u !

A decent DAP will be able to drive them satisfactorily, but they will undoubtedly 'scale' (sound even better) with a dedicated amp.

What DAP do you use?

I think a good option is the cypherlabs combo dac/amp .

there is a thread listed here to read/. it is balanced and single ended. and the dac will work with comp , android and iphone.

theorem 720 i think
