Wonders if the Hugo will be better suited to the lcd x rather than the lcd 3 now it's gone up to 110 impedance,I don't understand why the impedance has gone up yet the lcd x has the fazor and is only 26 impedance, seems like they going backwards with the lcd 3,surely it's better to have more efficient headphones in this day and age

I am afraid you guys will end up inducing more damage to my wallet with all this talk of more spatial airiness and such. Exactly what I would like to have in my LCD3s. I am really curious about the impedance on the X being so much lower than on the LCD3-F. My stack is obviously SS but can see in the future wanting to try a tube amp just for something different and it may be better to have a higher input impedance for a tube amp? Or would that really be a non-issue?

Anyone currently using the X with Cavalli Liquid Glass (I think that is a tube amp?) or WA22? Or other tube amps as well. Just curious...

The Liquid Glass is a hybrid amp with a tube preamp section and solid state output stage. The preamp stage is made to be able to roll a lot of different tubes and so the sound can change quite a lot depending on what tubes are in it. The amp is made to sound essentially like the tubes you put into it with the rest of the amp as transparent as possible.

I haven't heard it with the X, but I have heard the LCD-2, Alpha Dogs, and HD800 with the Cavalli Liquid Glass and the WA22 head to head (different DACs, but probably comparable.) At this meet, the LG was just at another level of amazing compared to the Woo (and I like the Woo a lot.) The LG is my bucket list amp. Its ability to roll so many tubes means it can be made to work with just about any cans. It sounded superb with every headphone we tried. I wish I had the $3k to blow on it right now...
