SilentMoon, Fazor is part of the transducer. There are multiple advantages that fazor brings to the table. It helps reduce phase distortions and improves imaging. Second, it eliminates diffractions on the corners of the magnet. It helps improve the acoustic impedance and provides smoother frequency response and better high frequency extension.

Audeze LLC is a U.S. manufacturer of headphones that redefine the world of high-end audio using a unique combination of proprietary planar magnetic...

The X's and XC's do have a different sound. As mentioned in this thread, the XC's upper range is much more prominent. The Audeze folks were really nice and answered any questions my newbie self had. Audeze was explaining how the closed ear cups create a resonance chamber which is responsible for that upper range. With the XC's the music is closer to your head. For some music I like "in your face", but I couldn't listen to the XC's long. After 2-3 songs, XCs made my head felt "congested."

I switch back to the Xs and my congestion went away. My ears were able to breathe. The soundstage opens up.

Nothing I can add to what already has been said about the mids. LCDs are known for their mids and its what they deliver.

To be honest, I liked XC's sound signature more than the Xs. But I know I'm going to have long listening sessions, so my choice goes to the Xs. I got myself the 20% off coupon from Audeze at the Socal Meet and instantly ordered a pair of Xs that night.

Very nice impressions.  Thank you for posting them, and congratulations on the purchase!  :beerchug:

That's kind of what I am hoping because I was tracking it all day long and then all the sudden it showed as being delivered when I looked at 5:45pm, and the delivery time showed as being 12:06pm, when both my wife and I were home, something doesn't seem right but it did show being delivered so who knows.

You should be able to call the post office and they should be able to verify where it is by delivery address or tracking number.  If they delivered it to the wrong address it is their responsibility.

Well I went in today to talk to them, since they wouldn't answer the phone which it appears they just left off the hook because all I ever got was a busy signal, and they said that it had shown being delivered, which I already knew and they would check with the carrier and get back to me by the end of the day by phone. Sure enough they never got back to me and my mailman didn't deliver it this afternoon either. I then called the 1-800-ASK-USPS number and asked what my options are and because there was no insurance or signature confirmation on it, they are telling me I will have to take it up with the seller. I messaged him 2 days ago and still haven't heard back from him, but he has assured me there was insurance and signature confirmation on it, but I appear to be at a loss at this point and it looks like I will be out $1700 for these headphones.

They (the XC's) are, in my opinion, the perfect orthodynamic for HD800 fans. They offer some of the HD800 imaging magic along with those brilliant highs but add the ortho liquidity in the mids and lower register.

For me, I am not fond of the HD800 signature and while I like the XC's a little more, especially with a lush warm amp like the Schiit Lyr, I absolutely prefer the X's.

Sayyyy, have you got the Rag in your studio yet? ;)

But your seller must have shipped them, since there was a confirmation number, and a delivery confirmation, even though it was incorrect.  If the post office shows it as being delivered, there is a package out there somewhere.

can the post tell by the tracking if it was insured, and signature required ? they should be able to, i know whenever i've had insurance , the tracking number was different than a regular priority mail

No it was not insured and there was no signature confirmation provided from what USPS told me, the seller I bought them from on Head-Fi had told me that he would send them 2 day mail with insurance and signature confirmation, unfortunately I don't know that I can really go after him since I paid via PayPal friends and family, but if what USPS is telling me is correct then he basically lied to me by promising me insurance and signature confirmation, which I paid him $32 for the shipping costs. I don't even know if I can take this to small claims court since I live in Virginia and he lives in California.

Hopefully they will show up at some point this week, so I am still keeping my fingers crossed that that is what will happen, otherwise I'm not sure what my next move is. It sucks too because I had been saving up for the LCD-X for a few months now and now it appears my money is down the drain.

The proof is out there as to what they are worth and you might even get some punitive damages. U.S.P.S. will def. run you around as much as they can, get a lawyer involved and I bet their answers start changing.

I've read their policy online, unless there is insurance on the package they are not liable to cover the cost of the missing package.

from personal experience- shorter version

last year, I mailed 2 headphones, fill- in postal worker left package where he was not supposed to , neighbors stole box-at least that is all we were able to figure out

I had insurance but post office refused to pay claim, their reason : package was delivered.

despite repeated calls/ visits to the post office by the member on the receiving end- nothing came of it

Good new though- my home owner's insurance company stepped in and covered less my deductible, got enough to replace the phones

if you have home owner's or renter's insurance give them a call and ask

but hopping it shows up, though

relevant info:

I once had  a package addressed to the wrong address recovered by UPS, so , I have been using UPS or FedEx for valuables

Snapple, thanks for the info, I wasn't aware this may be covered by my homeowners insurance, I will have to check into that.

Also, I am for certain done shipping with USPS, they are just absolutely pitiful in my area. They probably lose about 2 or 3 packages a year between my wife and myself because every street in our neighborhood has the same numbering system so we live at 909 meadowood but theres also a 909 stonywood, 909 meadowbrook too which makes it awfully confusing. But still, leaving the phone off the hook so they don't have to deal with phone calls is downright childish and unprofessional.

Np, glad to share to help each other

I think I was on the phone with our agent over something else so I was surprise too

I had to provide proof of ownership- had plenty of pictures and thanks to Amazon's files, I was able to get receipts

Since you bought used then maybe Paypal info will be helpful

Hope you are able to get your funds back  to buy the phone, its a special phone
