Agreed. The LCD-2 and classical don't work nearly as well as the HD800. Especially rev1 that I had. Too congested sounding.

The LCD-3 is a clear improvement with classical.

I actually love my LCD2 with classical, which is what I listen to almost exclusively, and prefer it over the HD800. I owned the HD800 for a long time and ultimately found the headphone to be bright and fatiguing.

For all the valliant attempts from the reviewers so far, we still don't know how these Audeze stack up against this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/men/the-filter/10457739/iGrow-a-helmet-that-cures-baldness-and-plays-music.html

And the LCD-X's improve on things even more with regards to classical. Their instrumental separation and imaging portrayal really helps with classical music.

MacedonianHero...you have to stop it with the "LCD-X is great with classical music" stuff...every time you say that, my cravings for the LCD-X get out of control.  Now, having to wait one to two months to save money to buy these are going to be pure hell.  I am respectfully asking for a moratorium on the "LCD-X is great with classical music" stuff (LOL).

I didn't really think anyone really listened to classical anymore? :p

Well I'm guessing / hoping as newer headphpnes come out they get better and better.  So the LCD-X should have improved on everything.  Hopefully anyway.

I love it with classical music. Besides what you said, the treble helps a lot!

I've damped mine, and now they are a bit boring, but even more precise.

The loaner XCs have arrived from Anakchan, along with an accidental loaner ALO cable which gives the bass on the X's a nice kick in the pants and makes it more entertaining to listen with. First time in a while I've turned up the volume higher than usual to rock out a bit, but that's more the fault of the Studio Six I think.

I think the X's sound a bit more relaxed and like other Audeze's than the XCs, which are yet more lively.
