That said, you don't necessarily have to spend a tin to get that. The Magni will drive them in a satisfying fashion.  I'm guessing the Asgard will too.  The Mjolnir definitely does.  The Lyr is not a good option, IMO.

I would expect the Burson to be a nice fit.  The Woo 6SE as well.
The soloist does a decent job but compared to the ECBA it is lacking. I would say the soloist is an ok match but the sound is a little bit thin.

Well...after about 3 weeks with these fantastic headphones, I've finally got around to publishing my own review here:

Yet another winner by Audeze IMHO and I couldn't recommend them any higher.

That's three reviews from thread contributors so far.

MacedonianHero:

Simply one of the best headphones I've heard. So real, grounded and quick sounding.

Nice write up from Dan:

One of the best headphones I have ever heard.

And here's mine:

Nice review.  I think the point about the treble being cleaner, as opposed to just brighter is right on the mark. The treble has shimmer and sparkle without the tizz.

Damn you, MacedonianHero.  You have pushed me over the edge. Now I have to get these headphones.  10 pairs of headphones and only one pair of ears.  What is this world coming to!!!

Looks like I'm going to have to get one of these.

Will the X be good for metal?

I think it should last longer than the wooden rings, I've read that those have had issues with cracking on the LCD-2/3.
