Looking for Very High Quality Earbuds, Can't Find Anything I like.

Thread Starter

So I've spent the last few weeks trying the most high end $200-$300+ options available at different retail stores and I haven't liked any of them. The latest I tried were the B&W C5's, Monster Turbines, Powerbeats by Dre. I even went to a set of headphones just to see if it would help with Sol Republic XC's. All these options complete garbage.

I primarily plan to play music from my iPhone 5S, I don't want to carry around an amp. I'm looking for something that is very well balanced, smooth, clear and with very well controlled bass.

Honestly out of all the $200+ earphones and headphones I've tried, I still like the stock Apple earbuds, because they have very well balanced sound, good bass, and smooth clean sound. Most of the higher end options add clarity but they take away balance. I also learned that I like a more open design, because I don't want the isolation, I need to be able to pause the music and have conversations without removing the earphones.

I'm looking for something in the $500-$1000 range now. Can anyone pitch me a recommendation?

That's a harder one... I like the sennheiser momentum a lot, but you might find the bass slightly boomy. What might make it hard is that you want something that doesn't isolate much, but still portable.

You only want earbuds? Look here maybe: http://www.head-fi.org/t/683865/need-some-good-earbuds
