I think the Summer Buying Guide did more harm than good for me, heh. Now I can't decide AT ALL

So I'm looking for a pair of headphones for multiple purposes.
I want a pair to game in, so I want that deep immersive feel of first person games, with the 'bass' and 'boom' to really get into the game. Same goes for movies.
But I also like the particular instruments in music. I don't want too much, overpowering bass. I want to be able to listen to music on them, generally rock genres.

But what's important to me is also things beyond the soundstage. I want to be able to take the headphones outside too, and I feel like generally, the big, comfy, immersive ones have a more 'at home' feel to me, and would like a bit odd out and about wearing. So I kind of want a smaller, lighter pair to take out with me. But I feel like these are two contrasting things and I would have to pick one.

Also a reason I'm not a huge fan of the big ones, is 'headphone hair', I'd prefer some 'on ears' rather than 'around ears' as to prevent this.

Just let me know if you think of any suggestions from this description. I looked at the summer buying guide, but honestly it just made me want almost all of them, nearly all the reviews say how amazing they are and it makes it difficult to decide when they hardly list any 'cons'.

Let me make it worse. Check the Innerfidelity Wall of Fame guides, too. Each generally links to full reviews

If you want more value for the buck the V-moda Crossfade LP are around $100-110 on amazon depending on color which are great after you break them in and even then just because of price. You can buy the Boomsound mic on the V-moda website for around $30? The V-moda M-80 is also a good choice at $148-$160 ( The V-moda V-80 are the same headphones but is branded with Trueblood stuff and is $148 on amazon) and can also use the mic. Now if money isn't an issue the V-moda M100 which is $299.99 new on amazon is a fantastic set of headphones which does have Bass ( Less then the LP but is more controlled bass) and also usable with the boomsound mic
