brand new to this

I've been reading a lot of posts and decided to ask for some advice before venturing out.
I have very eclectic music tastes. I thoroughly enjoy classical/baroque, but also love my dubstep. Rock is a large section of my collection and so is hip hop. In addition, I'm most definitely a gamer.
From what I can tell, sr80i would be good except for the dubstep. Ath md50 seem the best for the bass.
I'm looking to spend under 100 if possible. Would anyone recommend against used cans?

*Edit*

Okay so I've more well defined my wants/needs.:

Want:
-detachable cable
-around ear
-tight, heavy bass

Need:
-around $100
-work for a wide variety of genres
-comfortable for extended wear (hour+)

The ATH-M50 are a great all-arounder. However, they have been surpassed by a few headphones that cost less. My JVC HA S500's sound excellent for the price and do pretty decent for a large variety of music. That being said, they may not be ideal for gaming as the soundstage is pretty small.

Also look into the ATH AD700 (if you don't mind the complete lack of bass).
If you can bump your budget a bit higher, the MDR MA900 is a perfect choice for you.

I definitely NEED bass for my dubstep addiction XD I'm about to check into those jvc though, and see prices on mdr.
