I recently damaged My MDR MA900's cable and am planning to replace it. Im pretty sure I know how to do it but just in case, id like to make sure.
I have a soldering iron (60 watt), and some 60/40 solder.
I am planning on using an aux cable (3.5mm jack on both ends) and cutting off the top of one of the ends and then soldering it to the ma900's driver. Is there anything wrong with my methods?
I'm considering making the headphone have a detachable cable. My question is how to safely adjust the hole in the left ma900's cup to fit this: http://www.amazon.com/3-5mm-Stereo-Panel-Mount-Jack/dp/B000ML4A2Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1380652041&sr=8-1&keywords=3.5mm+socket
Do i need drill or can i just use the soldering iron to melt a nice hole?
EDIT: Actually, forget that last part!
