Markertek cables

Someone suggested to me that markertek cables were a very nice upgrade from the standard mini to mini cables you can buy elsewhere (like Radio Shack).

The ones I am ordering to connect my JMT amp to my Sony D-25S pcdp are the 3.5 mini male to 3.5 mini male markertek cables. Anyone here have experience using these things. Are they really the best for the price, until I'm ready to upgrade to something better like Clou?

Yeah, the Markertek cables are definitely a good buy, very good value. They use Canare cable and connectors and are available in many different lengths and colors, or you can buy the raw materials and DIY for a custom length. I've been using Canare stuff from Markertek for 4 or 5 years, very high quality stuff.

The "Small Brawl: Battle of the Mini's," a coast-to-coast two-listener cable review will be appearing soon, written by cajunchrist and me about just about all of the readily available variants... Just a teaser to answer your question -- I think we agree that you can't go wrong with the Markertek, especially at their price. You'll probably also get delivery within a week of the order. Make sure you order the "balanced stereo" version!

aw crap.....

I just ordered the 3.5 mini male to mini male, but it wasn't the balanced stereo version. So when I get these cables, do I need to return them and if I do how do I do so? Will these cables just not work at all with connecting my Sony D-25S to my JMT built altoids amp? dagnabit it all to heck.

In the other thread you asked the same question, and I suggested calling them. If you haven't received that wrong cable yet, e-mail them with all the info and then call them in the AM if you don't hear right away. Maybe you can get to them before they ship.

JMT. I'll have time to write my impressions this weekend, and I'll send it to you for editing and ideas. I'd like to have it posted by Monday.

Thanks for the input, JML. I look forward to reading the results of the mini-battle.
