How do I use my headphone gear for my TV?

Thread Starter

Hello. I've got a neat setup of iFi iUSB+iDAC+iCAN connected by USB to my computer.

Hifiman HE-400 Velour plugged into this trio (in the iCAN)

Is there any way for me to use this setup on my LG SmartTV?

It got a headphone jack, but the iUSB (start of the chain) can only be connected to USB out.

My TV only got USB ins afaik.

Lately I'm watching alot more TV than listening to music and I would love to use my setup

for this too. Can anyone help me?

I did read something about sending sound from the TV's HDMI ARC or something, can I possibly

do that into my computer?

Thanks for any help.

Does the iFi gear have to power off USB? Or does it have an AC adapter option, too (sorry, don't know much about these)? If it has to have USB power, I don't know what you do.

Otherwise, doesn't your TV have RCA outs and/or optical outs? If RCA, couldn't you hook it to your iFi headphone amp instead of the iFi DAC? And if not, you could pick up an inexpensive optical DAC.
