Hello.

My devices are AKG K612 pro(K601), Objective2 amp, a desktop PC.

I've narrowed down my DAC choices to these 3 models.

1. Odac ( $150 new)

2. Asus xonar essence ST ($140 used)

3. Audioquest dragonfly ($200 new)

Which one do you think I shoud get?

I don't care about portability.

I'm looking for something delivers more neutral and detailed sound.

Thanks for the suggestion. So the audible diffrences between DX and these models could be very subtle??

As you already have a external headphone amplifier, there is no reason to waste money on a sound card that also has one.

Also you can connect the O2 to the Xonar DX/D1's line-out/headphone jack and still be able to use all the headphone surround sound features.

Connect the O2 to the ST headphone jack and your double amping, connect the O2 to the ST's RCA jacks and you can not use the ST's headphone surround sound.
