With a long time enjoying 3 headphones of B&W P5, Beyerdynamic T50P and Sennheiser Momentum on-ear, I really want to have a summary and share it. Also, hoping the ones who have experienced them can share your opinions.

To start with the topic, I’d like to clarify that I used them only with my iPhone5, and I always used it when outside (ie. in bus and subway) or in-house.

First, the sound performance. I like Pop and Rock music, and I just think T50P performed really the best. With its bass not too heavy or too soft and plays powerful, then its middle to be clear but a little cold, and treble is also well-perform as a portable headphone. Also, the soundstage is really wide, maybe because it plays really equilibrium in all level of sounds.

Momentum is good in bass, it plays really powerful, but it’s so strong that I only feel the drum beating with other sound behind when I’m enjoying Lady GaGa’s music. However, maybe someone loves this feeling of being mell by the rock. In all, I just think its sound performs similar to the Beats, and maybe better in middle.

And what about the B&W P5? Actually, It performs really nature in sound, but the bass, just so low that when I’m enjoying rock music, I can only hear the drum beating behind. Also blame for its treble, too acute to listen. However, its middle plays pretty good and warm, and the soundstage plays much better than Momentum, but worse than T50P.

Second, the comfort of wearing. Without hesitation, P5 suit my ear best, and its foam and leather just feels really soft, and also the head band feels great. But when in hot days, your ear with sweat will feel really bad because of the leather.

And the T50P feels really terrible, for the earcups are too solid to wear, and when I’m lying on bed, I won’t wear it for afraid of spinning my hair in the gaps of the head band.

Then, What about Momentum’s so-called Alcan Tara? It feels good, but not so comfort as it announce. But when you’re sweaty, this material will feels better than leather.

After all, they’re all too tight to wear, and I can’t wear them more than an hour.

Last, maybe someone will consider about the style.IMO, I just think Momentum is really the most fashion one. P5 is also good-looking, more elegant, but too mature for young, And the Beyerdynamic T50P, maybe its particular, but not so attractive to me, and I just think it feels too metal.

Thank you for reading and hopes you to share more experience.

Thanks for your impressions! I have been searching for the perfect sleeping headphone in recent times, and would like to know how you found the P5 and the momentum on-ears in bed? Which is more comfortable for prolonged usage?

My current sleeping headphones are the Sennheiser PX100-ii

Actually, I don't think both are perfect for using in bed, for they're too tight. If not considering too much about the sound, I just think apple's earphone is really good for sleeping. PX100-ii is lighter, but if you really want to pick one between them, I prefer to P5, because its foam and leather really feels soft, and I always wear it for a break.
