Head-Fi Gear Separation Support Thread - Page 9

Well, on topic with the thread, I just ordered my LCD-2's from headroom, anxiously awaiting an email saying they shipped. I can't stop smiling, I'm so excited. On the flip side, I'm still waiting for that sale on the Aune T1.

At least you'll have shiny new LCDs to keep you company while you wait!

Got my hps back. SRH940 came back and I now have a review sample of Voxoa HD Wireless headphones. I feel happy again.

I'm having a quandary everyone...

I just received (finally!) the new Matrix X-Sabre DAC and it seems to be more detailed and a little drier than my past DAC. It's making my Beyer T1s less enjoyable which is a tragedy because I love the T1s. Not sure if I should change headphones, change DACs, or just chill out and see if I adjust to the new sound... It's a nice problem to have (although I can't really afford new cans), but still!

Give it some time. At least few days before you judge them.

I've heard many, owned many, the only 1 headphone to date that I owned and miss sorely to date is the legendary CD3k's. Larry killed all those poor CD3k's solely for the drivers.

Yes that's Headphile use to do, gut CD3k's and use the drivers in Grado and other wooden housing assemblies. Bloody awful sounding might I add as I had the opportunity to hear one of the woodied CD3k's.

Congrats, MC! You'll love them. I only got about a 30 min demo, but I thought they were every bit as good as my T1s and maybe even a bit better. And that's considering the fact that I love the T1s.

I love the T1's but the HD800 is a different animal the detail, clarity, and imaging are superior to the T1. The bass and comfort level of the T1 is still no.1 in my book.

Hope this thread speeds the HP's swiftly your way.

Yea i listen to mostly acoustic/intsrumental and jazz and some classic prog. I think the HD800 will suit me better.

T1  -  Funk, Electronic, Pop

HD800  - Jazz/Acoustic/Classical (some Classic rock)

The T1 is a great at just about any music style.  The HD800 has me pulling out all my classic rock and acoustic albums.  You will love them, and actually they are 1+ comfortable, the T1 3+.

Thought I'd update you guys on my "strife": my LCD-2's are here, and I'm loving them! I'm now waiting on my Aune T1 to come (the sale came, and they've been ordered), as well as for my new budget speaker system (HiFiMeDIY Sabre DAC -> Lepai lp2020a+ -> Pioneer sp bs22lr) to come in. The suspense is killing me :D
