200-300$ computer subwoofer options

Hey instead of going on future shop and choosing from whatever looks coolest..
Could somebody tell me what are the good options out there for a computer subwoofer? Like what are the benchmarks and most popular. If there was a thread like there are for open headphones and IEMs but for what I'm looking for, that'd be cool too.

You'll want to look at home audio subwoofers. A subwoofer doesn't care if it's used with a computer or home theater setup smily_headphones1.gif

Also, be wary of "most popular" subs based on online retailer reviewers since most people don't have a lot of experience comparing subs. They just like what they have purchased because it sounds good to them, and there may be much better values.

What is your setup? Depending on what make/model speakers (and/or amp) you have, you might need a certain type of connections to best hook up a sub.

The AVS subwoofer forum has a discussion thread for budget subwoofers. You might read and ask questions there. Be sure to let them know you are in Canada (since you mention FutureShop). Unfortunately, Canadians don't get the kind of deals on subs that those of us in the US do.

Doesn't look like there are many subwoofers in your budget range at FutureShop. The Polk PSW10 is a pretty good price/performance value for $100.

if your looking for bass and don't want to go home theater sub route, check out the corsair sp 2500  2.1 computer speakers. Its a powered 8" sub. The sub rocks some pretty good bass.
