Ue900 to replace new but broken triplefi's?

So I love my ES10's. So u wanted to upgrade my cheap sony in ears that I've had fir years for use at work (movies, music). Researched and realized the triplefi's are what I'm looking for. Found them on amazon for $230 and went for it. Four days later they arrived. Dropped everything I was doing (nothing at all) and gave them a test run. Initial thoughts were they sound good. Next I wanted to try to remove the wire from the earphone. The damn wire pulled the terminal right out and the solders gave. Not even five mins old and they're broke. So I contacted UE and after sending them a few pics they're response was
"THE TRPLE FI TEN EARPHONES ARE CURRENTLY OUT OF STOCK. THE REPLACEMENT THAT WILL BE SENT WILL BE THE MODEL UE900."
After reading reviews and YouTube vids don't know if that's what I want?!
I would like to hear any opinions. Listen to all kinds of music, mainly hip hop. Thanks for any input.

If you liked the sound you could always try reshelling into customs.  Saying that the 900's are going on amazon right now for $350 so it's not all bad.  Up to you really.

Was thinking the same thing.

UE900's would be virtually useless for hip hop.

That's great to to know. Any other Logitech model that u can recommend that would work for hip hop.

UE doesn't really offer anything really bassy.  For hip hop??  Westone 3 all the way!

Keep the UE900 or sell them if you don't like the sound. You could even make a profit. Shouldn't worry that much.

The only UE model that I could see useful for hip hop would be the UE 500. They aren't the best though. You're better off going with something like an Atomic Floyd SuperDart, T-Peos H-200, Heir Audio 3.Ai, Westone W3, etc.

I've had both and I listen to the same genres as you.

Find a pair of secondhand TF10s and reshell em through InEarz. That who process can be done for less than a new pair of UE900s. The 900s are a great IEM but they have build quality issues and are a little light in the bass region.

I actually didn't mind my UE900's for hip-hop.  A little EQ'ing helped on the bottom end.

I liked the TF10's from little bit I heard from them, the the expected bass wasn't there. I know it's gonna be somewhat limited in the bass department for the in ears but..... Anyway, I think I'll give them a try. Should be a major improvement compared to my current $20 old sony in ears.

You'll appreciate that decision :)

I'll post an update. I'm sure it's gonna be about two weeks before I get them. Thanks for the input.
