iPhone 5 best IEM option

Hi all,

I'm totally new so apologies if this has been asked many times before. I am looking to purchase a very decent pair of IEMs for use with my iphone 5. I have looked at various makes and models and it seems I have more options than a kid in a candy store. I'm willing to spend decent money but I'm hesitant because I don't want to buy something expensive only to find its greatly limited by the source. I have looked at westone 4rs and senheiser ie800s but I really doubt they will reach their potential from an iPhone 5... Am I correct in this assumption?

I listen to music through spotify at 320 so there's already some compression going on. The music I listen to is a real mix, electronic, pop, dub step, reggae, dancehall, rock, soul, all the above.

Any recommendations or information would be fantastic.

Thanks for your time.

I like the Bose MIE2i's or their SIE2i's (sport version, so water-resistant). They're super comfortable, have an amazing warranty, and sound pretty nice. Also their inline mic/controls are excellent.

Yeah, I bought those for my dad and he likes them because there's a curved rubber piece that rests on your cartilage rather than it being all the way in your ear.

I know exactly what you mean, going by the source. I've used Klipsch Image S4i numerous times and thought they were great bang for the buck. I'm no audiophile by any means, but I'd recommend the Klipsch Image x10i if you want a pair of IEMs with good range. They might be a bit more bass heavy than what the average audiophile might want, but it's nothing that'll ruin the experience. Since Klipsch has introduced a new generation, (x11i, same drivers?) you might find the current generation at a fair price.
