Does anyone know if there may be a pair of alpha dogs in attendance?

I was unable to get my pair delivered in time :(.   Maybe someone else?

Well, no Bottlehead S.E.X. at the meet from me.  I just had a resistor smoke out on me during testing.  Not going to be able to get a replacement prior to the meet (and not sure why it popped in the first place).

Oh well.  My final equipment list looks like this:

Anaxilus modded HD800 with my world famous meet cable system

Balanced Momentums (compatible with meet cable system)

Beyerdynamic DT660 (for sale and listening)

CEntrance HifiM8 iDevice version

Laptop

Assorted adapters

I can bring a Resonessence Concero (also for sale) if someone wants to try it out.  Let me know, otherwise, I will leave at home.

BIG bummer on the Crack, I was looking forward to hearing that.

I just finished my speedball update on my crack last night.  If I get it tested and it works, I was thinking of bringing it.  Although I think someone else is bringing one, so maybe I won't.

oh, and also, my basement flooded last night.  been dealing with that all day.  feel bad for me.  a lot of good speakers died in this flood.

I can find and bring a good version of "Taps" or perhaps Mozart's requiem for your speakers.  Sorry about the basement.

This rain and the winds are causing a lot of issues. Water started finding its way into my office today and then I saw buckets other places as well.

I contacted Dan but their demos were out for review so I was unlucky as well.

OK, tomorrow is the day.  I will be getting to the location about 9:30.  hopefully that is enough time for others to set up as well.  I'm going tonight to put the room together.

Haven't seen anyone volunteer to bring any food or drinks.  If your willing, a simple couple bags of chips or a case of water goes a long way.  Think about it.

I will bring a case of water and a couple bags of chips.  Would be great if one or two others could supplement.  Definitely need some munchies since we run through lunch.

I am also not opposed to taking up a collection for a couple pizzas to be delivered around 12-1. we have another room to keep them in away from equipment. We can all decide while we're there I suppose. smaller group this year, about 15 give or take. should be cool.

Also, don't forget the exchange table. I think I'll remember to bring some things.

I'd be glad to grab some beverages on the way in, and pitch in for pizzas as well.

I just updated my previous gear list post and am copying it below.  Solved my mid-fi DAC/amp combo need by picking up a like-new Xonar E1 that I'll definitely be sharing, and also took delivery of my brand new Emotiva Mini, though frustratingly haven't received the new lightweight planars I ordered for it yet (!) and might leave it behind unless somebody (Audeze folks?) expresses a strong interest & has a speaker->headphone adapter of any sort (built my first one last night but haven't tested yet).  Didn't have the chance to do my S.E.X. amp either, so that's off the table, and sold my HD600 but I think somebody else is bringing this.

New:

Asus Xonar Essence One

Emotiva Mini  (only a maybe at this point - there might be enough SS power in the room already to make it irrelevant)

Previously posted:

Bottlehead Crack+Speedball  (sort of a maybe - working on finishing up Speedball tonight, fingers crossed nothing goes wrong - will be taking offers on it if I bring it)

V-Moda M-80

Fiio E17

Since it sounds like at least two other people (at least one confirmed) could be bringing their HE-500, & I since I'm trying to sell mine, I plan on leaving that one behind & going back to retrieve it if anybody expresses interest in buying at the meet.  Door-to-door, I'm just a 10 minute drive away.  My 30-second pitch: essentially an open-box set purchased 2 months ago, brand new untouched replacement velours (I'll keep the used originals), unused/untouched leather pads, unused/untouched headband (I slapped on a Beyer cushion strap in the same motion when I first took it out of the box). $640 (firm) for everything, optionally $620 if you don't want the leather pads. [If you need them, I also have an extra sealed Beyer headband cushion and extra Sennheiser pigtail-style mini-to-1/4in adapter, $10 each.]  I also have the carrying/travel case for $30 as an optional add-on.  Please PM me if interested.

Looking forward to tomorrow.  Am really upset that my new planars didn't arrive in time to try out on the high-power amps - would've loved to A-B them with the Mini, but oh well.

I was thinking a lot / semi-concerned about this, too.  Do people at meets generally set up their gear for sharing using their own music, or do people usually use their own (transportable) source for trying things out?  I have a really limited FLAC selection appropriate for this level of equipment, and it is almost entirely limited to stuff like electronic music off Bandcamp.  I would be borderline embarrassed if a classical music lover wanted to demo my gear using the music I listen to.

I would think that effective testing & demoing would be done using music/source files with which the listener is highly familiar.

I will have a windows 7 laptop hooked up to my gear with some personal favorites, but in general high quality recordings (some hi res, most not) so people can get an idea of what the gear can do. People are welcome to bring a thumb drive to plug in if they would like.
