Hi... finally, and need help with a cord

Hey there. Long time lurker of the forum, first time posting.

Im posting because a set of my phones now seems to have a damaged cord. I'm saddened because I'm super careful with all my stuff and this just started happening last week.

The cans in question are my xb1000's. The symptoms are that when the cord is flexed near the jack the audio deadens, gets scratchy, or cuts out entirely (only momentarily however).

It may just be my imagination but I feel like it tends to be weighted to the left channel.

Of course I don't have my receipt or proof of purchase or any of that... how difficult is it to get a new jack put on? Is it something I could do myself? (I possess soldering experience from my robotics club in high school...class of '99 lol)

Or... more comfortably is there someone capable of performing the surgery on my babies? What would you all suggest?

Thanks!!! I love y'all.

Maybe you can type "recabling" in the search page. I heard Bryan at BTG audio can do the recabling. Or you can buy 3,5 mm male stereo TRS jack and do the soldering yourself. There's plenty at Amazon online store or you can visit your local hardware store to look for the jack and the needed tools. Hope this helps.

Just get a 3.5mm plug for $2 and solder it on yourself.
