New WESTONE W-SERIES - Page 8

You can get UE900 replacement braided cables dirt cheap from Logitech direct: http://buy.logitech.com/store/logib2c/en_US/DisplayCategoryProductListPage/categoryid.60213000 - $15 for audio only and $25 for the one with a remote.

In my opinion Westone cable feels better quality, but if you want braided cable (signal and ground better isolated, and so does left/right channels) with in line remote which actually works with Android (multi function button, not the volume) - that ue900 cable is a good choice.

that is a good deal for what looks like a decent cable.

Any ideas on what happened to the W30? They seemed to have vanished.

They haven't been in any of the pictures of the lineup on Westone's Facebook page and there's no hint of them on their site either.

Has the model been cut? :(

they should be still there as w30 was refreshed not long ago.

I got a new pair of westone w4r so I will be able to compare them.

After few hours burning in I can tell an improvement in the sound of the w40 but it could be only placebo...

You're probably right. I just think that my brain got used to the sound, but I will be able to compare when I have a pair of w4r again.

Agreed, I use it with my SE215s and I love it. There aren't really any strain reliefs to speak of, and the mic isn't the best for noisy environments (the Shure mic cable is fantastic in this regard), but overall its a decent cable and has taken a bit of abuse from me over the last four months. I have to say though that I'll probably go back to the Shure cable when these two give out, if only because I use the mic to take calls on the bus and outdoors near traffic pretty frequently.

lol Yeah when i look at those pics it kinda says to me, you arent really into audio if you arent wearing these. haha... excellent marketing when it gets you to start doubting your own integrity lol...am i not cool, do i not have the latest stuff lol...

although i dont like alot of westones current products, although they are growing on me some, westone has always been that kinda marketer and they really dont need to push their product in ways their products push themselves.

I have again both W40 and W4R, I will write a comparison soon but...

- They have different sound signature.

- They don´t burn in. At all.

- For a moment I had the same whistling sound as when I changed from the UM2 to the W3.

Ok now I'm hopeful for the W30 again
