The Studio-V and 3rd are both very very powerful, 18/31 with DT1350s is Very loud indeed , also drives my HD600s with ease.
Really how much more power do you real need? In my experience under powered amps are quite rare I can only think of the Nova N3 and IPhone 5.

Hi...... I have been looking to purchase either the Astell & Kern 120, the newest HiFI Man portable, and the others mentioned here and really can't ascertain which is the best. I like the ability of the A&K to be used as a DAC but think it's overpriced and wonder if it needs to be altered by ALO with better chips. I live on Long Island and would love to audition all of them but have no idea where! I would bring my Sennheiser 650s and Grado RS1s with Moon Audio silver dragon cables if I knew where in NYC to go. Does anybody have any recommendations of which sounds the best? I use the Predator portable amp with ALO cable to drive my equipment. I'm really confused when I see somebody here with the A&KSLA & SLE 120 looking to buy something I know little about. My regular equipment is the original Marantz tubed model 7 preamp, model 8 amp, 10b tuner, California Audio  Icon MK2, going through my mirror imaged Dahlquist DQ 10s.  I have Cary SLA & SLE tube amp and preamp as backups. Almost as good as Marantz!

I listen to headphones a lot; which portables deserve to be auditioned for Folk, Jazz,Classic Rock, and some Classical. Thanks, Bob

as u seem on ur own with this, try large depatment stores to try out gear, they always some, and ask manufacturers where their stockists are.

For me only the one with Wlan are intresting, than the choice is reduced unfortunately, and in case of the AK240 to expensive for the average Music fan.
