The facts speak from themselves - every batch manufactured so far sold out.

You don't know every batch of DX50 sold out. Merely iBasso used the cut off date of each batch before starting the next. The DX50 sounds OK, it's lack of soundstage and instrument separation is quite poor, not much better technically overall than an ipod classic. All you guys are getting is decent resolution and detail if you PUMP the amp section hard. Overall as an audiophile player, it's quite average. Even the little hisound Rocco BA sounds cleaner, and stronger technically. If DX50 was that good I would of put up with the bugs and drama and kept it. As a focus point check some of the sources I've owned on my profile.

You're entitled to your view of coarse but just because you believe it doesn't make it so.

  • Fact: the DX100 is a 900 bone player that over a year later is still buggy.
  • Fact: the DX50 was released every bit as buggy
  • Fact: iBasso was misleading in the OS it was choosing to implement on the DX50 ( its Android, before release they said it wouldn't be)
  • Fact: they could have released the player a few short weeks later without a lot of the bugs but chose not to
  • Fact: impressions over usability have been all over the map ranging from great to barely usable (that means either some people are lying or QC in manufacturing is that bad)
  • Fact: read through the DX50 impressions thread and you'll run across 100s of entries of people complaining about bugs
  • Fact: 100's of complaints concerning a MP3 player which has had only a few 1000 units manufactured is pretty piss poor
  • Fact: it doesn't matter how badly implemented a product may be you'll always get your brand cheerleaders burying everyone elses observations

You want to be thankful over all that then by all means be my guest

Audio360 got two units and both were duds. Doesn't inspire a lot of confidence, Imagine 2 fridges breaking down in their first week, only a sucker would go back for a third time.
Noped the hell out of buying the DX50 and enjoying my 99.99% trouble free Fiio X3. This is from someone with a PB2/DB2 combo and tons of opamps, not an iBasso hater.

I must be a sadist I have 2 of the notorious DAPs the C4 and DX100. They are less of a pain to work than my old record player with my scratched vinyl collection though

Hey don't beat yourself up over it, I used to be a Minidisc user too. We are an equally sadistic bunch but I split my time between my Sony/Fiio DAP nowadays.

Old school Sony Walkman guy here. You guys remember the cassette days? Ahhh, the good old days of cassettes and walking around with a ghetto blaster om your shoulder, such fond memories.

I remember rewinding tapes so much the player or deck would eat them lol.

I almost forgot about my Sony Discman. Now that's a DAP and a half, I love it, only laziness causes me to use it so rarely

My very first cassette tape was the Chipmunks, which my uncle bought me along with a portable tape player. Being my only tape, I played it all day...everyday, both sides back and forth continuously. I played that tape so much it actually wore out and wouldn't play any longer.

Their website states all units have been sold by them.

From reading the various posts, most people would including myself have offered a more upbeat commentary about the performance of the dx50, which I run through a separate amp and which sounds a lot better than ipod video 5.5 line out to the same amp. But all this stuff about performance & musicality is subjective.

Glad you were able to at least agree on something with me. We should look into getting jobs in the UN. Watch world peace break out, lol.
