For Sale:
AKG K550 Mint+, includes shipping and PayPal fees --- SOLD!

Will Ship To: Continental U.S.

Hi,

I'm the original owner of this absolutely mint condition AKG K550.  Conservatively, I estimate it has something less than 50 hours on it.

I'm trying to get myself down to one full size headphone - my Audeze LCD-2 rev.1.  The K550 is very detailed, has a very smooth treble, and is far more comfortable than the LCD-2, but it just doesn't suit my tastes - not with my sources and amps.

The attached photographs show that I've taken exceptionally good care of it. There are no scratches, dents, dings, or blemishes of any kind. Take note, also, that during all but about the first 10 minutes of this K550's use, I wore it with disposable paper ear pad protectors, which I use routinely, with all of my headphones.

Note also that this K550 is original and complete in every way - no mods of any kind.  In summary, when I say this K550, its box, and all included paperwork are "Mint," I say it with absolute confidence that you will think so, too.

I've already packed it, double-boxing within a larger cardboard box with plenty of bubble wrap around the original K550 retail box.

I will only accept payment by PayPal, but I will pay the fee, and I will also pay for UPS Ground shipping (providing you with a tracking number), to any address within the continental U.S. (48 states).

Now asking US $165.00 -- SOLD! --

I reserve the right to refuse this sale if I have cause for concern.  (I'll be reasonable, of course.)   :-)

Thanks!

Mike

Would you ship to Canada?

Thanks for the interest, but I'd prefer to wait for a "local" buyer. It's just easier, without customs forms, etc.

Makes sense. Thanks for letting me know.

On a separate topic: If you don't mind me asking, since I'm new to head-fi and I keep seeing people post "will ship only within US", are there any other reasons why people don't want to sell outside USA? If I know that there is a general consensus on a solid reason for not shipping outside the US then I won't keep bothering people asking if they would ship to Canada.

If it is just a personal preference, then I could ask. =)

Thanks.

Seriously, to the best of my knowledge, I suspect the consensus is nothing more than being uncomfortable in not knowing "how" to ship something outside the U.S. and perhaps some concern about whether or not the item will actually get there, and lastly, how long it will take. These fears/concerns definitely vary with the destination country, with Canada not being as "scary" as some other places, for sure.

My wife is Canadian and we ship stuff to a little town in Ontario all the time, so I have no "fears" regarding Canada delivery, but rather just turned off by having to fill out a customs declaration + waiting a lot longer for closure of the transaction than I would a U.S. buyer. It also complicates the whole issue of who is going to pay for the difference in shipping cost, figuring out that difference, collecting for that difference after shipping when I would prefer to receive full payment in advance, etc. etc.

Again, it's just a lot easier and faster for me to pay for shipping, whatever the amount, to buyers in the 48 states - I don't even want to ship to Alaska or Hawaii, due to the extra cost and, again, the need to work out cost difference and receive payment in advance. I'd much rather just kick back and wait for a 48 states buyer - too easy, in comparison.

:-)

Hahaha. So true. Don't know why cross-country is so complicated, wish there was a risk-free standard way of doing business between different countries.

Anyway, that was some good info and has me informed on the whole "US shipping only" scenario. Thank you for that.

Have a great day and good luck with the sale!

If you wanted to, depending where you are (close to a border crossing) you could have it shipped to UPS store. I live in Ottawa, ON and have had stuffed shipped to UPS store in Ogdensburg, NY. Just drive down, pay 5$ storage fee at UPS Store (they sometimes don't even charge) and leave with your package. Helps with the "US only" factor and the shipping costs when ordering anything online or from a US counterpart.

Could be something to look into, if you want to get these headphones. ;-)
