i was talking about the dozens of oem cables which are never any good for anything, including the 7520 cable.

If you don't like yours, can I have it as a spare - I love mine!

i threw it away day 3 and bought a cheap amazon 4' cable instead (a practical cable for on the go which is what this headphone represents to me), sorry.

Aw dang. I would have loved a spare stock cable for the 7520 too! I love coiled cords for tracking.

Yeah the cable might be alright for studio use, I really like putting  a small, short, light cable in these though, the headphones feel almost wireless.

Yep! I use a V-Moda Speakeasy when I'm just sitting at my desk and on the go. It's wonderful.

Anyone have a suggestion for a amp in the similar vein as a lehmann linear. Just spent half hour paired my 7520 and must say that it took them to the next level. Unfortunately I can't justify the 1k price tag. 500 usd max is my budget.

The only $500 amp I own to recommend is the Portaphile Micro (627). It does wonders for most everything thrown at it, including the 7520. But because I use it with another set-up, I run my 7520 through a $105 C&C BH2 and love it. These paired with my Aune T1 w/ Amperex 7308 tube DAC (USB-fed) section makes for one of my favorite (inexpensive) combos. Crazy, I know.

BTW, Cesar has the Micro on sale at $449.

another synergistic amp if you are feeding it with a good source is the Violectric 100.  I reviewed it and used the Sony 7520s.  See my sig.
