Denon D5000 (used) VS D2000 (new) - same price, which would you choose?

So, looking for a wider soundStage closed set to replace my Senn Momentums at work (pairing with my M/M stack source flow). Love the Momentums, but I'm craving a wider, less 'forceful' sound (if that makes sense...)

Anyhoo, I've found a set of used ("Excellent cond.") D5000s (my original target) from a local seller or I could grab a set of brand new D2000s for the same price. I'm really quite convinced that the D5000 would be my best case scenario, but I tend to purchase my gear new so that's giving me some pause.

I would love to hear your opinions, if you had this decision to make, which would you choose and why?

EXTRA CREDIT: If you would choose the used D5k path, what would be the best way to test them on site?

Thanks so much in advance, you glorious Head-Fites!

I had both at one time and preferred the AH-D2000 over the 5000.  The 5000 has a slightly recessed midrange and muffling to the sound, but the difference is minute.

Take the new AH-D2000.  The only reason I can justify recommending the 5000 is for looks.

To be clear you are talking about the Denon AH line of headphone?

seconded. course, I'd recommend hunting down a pair of AH-D7000s, but... the 2000 is dearly beloved by me, so. FOSTEX *******IT MAKE A NEW LINE OF THEM ALREADY I DON'T WANT A TH900

if you didn't know, the AH-D2000/5000/7000 are Fostex headphones.
