Bowers & Wilkins P7 - over the ear headphones - Page 92

Booming bass is all you hear from the P7's? Right out of the box the bass can sound a bit loose but tightens up if you let pink noise or music play through them for a day or so (without listening to them while breaking them in). Even reviewers that have downplayed them have given them props for their very good to outstanding treble. What gear and type of files are you using with your P7's? The P7's scale very well and you may be surprised how much better they will continue to sound when driven by better gear. It's possible yours need to be checked out by B&W or returned for another pair that's working properly. Good luck.

Try lossening headband with your hands and is it better? I found an over tight band gave much too much bass with how I had demoed them. A night wrapped round outer box and all was well.

By any chance can anyone compare these to the Beyerdynamic Dt770
Also is the bass god on these puppys?

Is it possible to loosen the headband on the P7?

They are slightly too tight for me, making them uncomfortable to use.

You should be able to gently flex/bend the headband outward a bit which should make them fit you better. Mine were too tight after 30-45 minutes of use when I first bought them but between use and flexing them open a bit they're now extremely comfortable. Good luck!

Leave overnight round the box. Did trick for me!

Thanks guys. This is a demo pair so I don't quite dare to flex the headband on them, but I did leave them around the box overnight just now. I'll see if it has helped. Thanks again :)

I love everything about the P7 except the tightness of the headband.

It sure is a great-sounding pair of phones.

I had the opposite problem with the P7, my heads too small :p  Box method does work though.  I tend to break out a set of books (I think I used The Chronicles of Narnia with my Brainwavz HM5 :p).

Replacement cable connection between the headset is also necessary!?

I also found too much bass with a tight headband, which immediately reduced after loosening.
