Upgrading to Sennheiser HD 598s

Hi guys, I currently have a pair of HD449s and was wondering how much better HD598s would sound.

I have already ordered them and was wondering what the difference would be in quality and bass would be compared to what I currently have(I've read from pretty much every single person on the internet that owns HD598s that the bass is weak... But just how weak?) ... I was planning on getting some Corsair SP2500s because I love my bass but decided against it as my currently speaker system already drives everyone around me mad. There were also other headphones recommended to me considering how I love my bass, but I wasn't able to get my hands on any of them. Why this is kind of important to me, regardless of it being too late anyway, is because the sound quality of HD449s, to me is downright atrociously horrible and the bass is so damn weak I could fall asleep with my equalizer pushing bass to it's highest... I think my heart rate slows down.

As a side note, I use a Creative Sound Blaster Z as my soundcard.

Cheers!

Edit: Accidental double post, sorry.

Personally, having owned the 598s for 2 years and having all sorts in between, they are not lacking bass.

They have always been my go to cans, always going be one of my favs. Selling because I fancy a change.

They are super smooth, great at general use, amazing for gaming.

If you are expecting sp2500 level of bass, you are going to be dissapointed. If you are looking forward to sensual smoothness and great rendition of string, you are in for a treat.

I know they're good or I wouldn't have ordered them... But does anybody know how much better than are in comparison to my current HD449s?

I would think the HD598s over all audio quality improvement would make up any difference in the lighter bass.

The HD598 may not have as large a bass, but it should be a better quality bass.

Sounds EXACTLY the same.
Sh*t investment, definitely not worth the $300 I paid. The HD 449s ($100) sound exactly the same.

You can get new HD558s for $142 and they use the same driver (but not the same cups) as the HD598s.

Used HD558s for $131, maybe even cheaper on eBay.

If the HD 598s sound exactly the same as my HD449s then I'm pretty sure that I want to save my money and stay away from anything else below the 598s...

Maybe it'll sound different after a year of use or something, my HD449s didn't sound any good when I first got them so I always used my speakers but after a year of using them for small periods during the night, they gradually got better and at this point my 1 year old 449s sound exactly the same as my HD598s. So we'll see, I guess.

I've said it for a long time. Ever since the "Newer 400 series" Going up the chain you get barely any real upgrade.
Just slight, I've done the whole range and the small subtile increase is not worth it. For me, the 558 is the sweet spot.
No reason to go any higher or lower. For closed 439(under $100) for open 558 ($105-140), If you want a higher end, just save and get the HD 600, no need to try the others.

Correct. The HD600 will blow away the HD449, I know having owned one and a friend the other.

The HD600 are quite different to the 598 anyway. The 449 is a good headphone for the price.
