AD700/TAD500/DT770

I'm confused... I've been recommended a couple headsets for gaming and i'm really wondering whats best for positional accuracy

from what I've heard

AD700 - really great positional accuracy but low base

TAD500 - pretty good positional accuracy for 50$ less and more base

DT770 - closed cans(able to block out extra noise fans, computer, etc.) w/ pretty good positional accuracy with a little too much base

Im probably going to go with the sound blaster z for these headphones so that i can have a mic since i will be gaming

For anyone who has gamed with any or all of these headsets please respond

overall i'm looking for a headset that will give me good positional accuracy for less than 150 so mainly i'm looking at the TAD500 and the AD700... the DT770s would be if i could find them at a good price range

Thank you for reading.

Heya,

Just to point out, you can get the Beyer DT990 PRO for about $150 new on amazon right now. Sound Blaster Z will drive it. Great gaming headphone. Great positional accuracy, has good imaging, and is a really fun energetic headphone. If you're going to spend money you might as well get something that's really durable, comfortable, and has great rumble for fun. The TAD500 is frankly better than the AD700 because it's virtually the same, but built better, better ear pads, and a better low end response. The DT770 is excellent if you want a closed headphone. I would frankly get anything over the AD700. But then again, I'm biased. I bought it for the same reason everyone else does, and found it was not nearly as awesome as people describe it. But I've tried a lot more headphones, so my experience regarding that is quite different than someone who has only ever tried... the AD700.

Very best,
