Clou Cable Quickie

I got the clous today and the first thing I noticed is that blue is really good looking (it is my favorite color after all). Then I noticed that the cord was really long (6 ft.) Then I plugged it into my amp and my senns and thought that it really wasn't as thick/heavy/stiff/uncomfortable as people made them out to be.

The important stuff: the sound dramatically changed. Gone is the veiled sound. Now there is deeper bass, higher highs, details, and... some power. Now I can listen to classical music and rock out with sennheisers... I never thought that would happen. It basically fixed every problem I had with them (in previous threads I complained about a lack of impact).

Reviews of every audio thing I have ever touched forthcoming when I get a second of free time. Darn school

Yeah, well, the red is EVEN BETTER, I think you should upgrade, and sell the blue to some other deserving head-fi'er.

(dcg still bitter about Jon beating him to the sale of the clou blues)

Just kidding. Looking forward to your reviews.

No, red looks way kewler! (my fav color)
I doubt they sound any different.
Congrats.

I don't find them stiff and uncomfortable either, people are so picky.

I had the exact same reaction to the blues with my 580s. I was completely blown away. I had the 580s for 3 years, and I was very used to their sound, the clous added SO much impact, it was staggering, and like Jon said, they filled out the whole frequency range of the phone. They are striking to look at, but much more so to hear. I do find them a tad bulky, stiff and annoying, but it is more than made up for by the sound improvements -- It is not like I was dancing around the room in them before (though I feel like doing it now....).

They should sound different, well that is if you have high levels of RF in your room, then the Reds will sound better. But, if your levels are low, they should sound the same.

The fluorescent lamps in my listening room glow and flicker even when turned off. Does this explain the noise in my system? RF noise?
