Nice!  Did you get done for taxes and how long did it take for you to get them?  Considering I do a lot of listening at work which means 5-6 hours or so I could do with something non fatiguing :P

It took just 4 days in total! 1 day ordering/dispatch, and 3 days from Japan to my doorstep (well, flat step to be precise XD) in the UK! It's really amazing speed from Dimitri and EMS (japan post)!

Oh yeah, definitely consider the s-em6 for your situation!

I presume the darkness issue often claimed is also depending on volume.

Sound reproduced at lower volume is just muddy and muffled.
We need to turn up the volume a little more than usual in order to pull out good out of S-EM6, to let the details of mids as well as treble to emerge.

I frequently switch between K3003 but S-EM6 with less sibilance is more capable of handling higher volume.
It is still darker, but never be that of super duper level.

Thanks for clarifying, they should be quite eye-catching. Look forward to impressions although likely to be same as cristal.

Have you had any contact from Earsonics about the pair you sent back incidentally?

I got no comments back but received a brand new pair of cristal S-EM6, suggesting there was something wrong with the initial pair. I clearly preferred the Shure 846 to my original pair but since receiving the new one I have difficulty choosing a favourite. The Earsonic has more involving mids but the bass and treble are slightly better on the Shure.

Help!!!! I just receive a pair of s-em6(original black ver.) and I also tried the devil red ver. in a local store.I found mine kind of muddy, even the devil red and sm64 are more clear than it.I ain't sure if it's new but I afraid it's because it's v1,do you guys think I should send it back?

I would, unless you prefer the muddy sound. :D

You had that problem beforee too right? And you got a new pair?Did the old one sound muddy and new one improved?thanks and sorry for bad english

I wouldn't describe them as muddy but rather quite dark. The new one has a small bump in upper mids/lower treble and those are definately more enjoyable and less dark.

I agree with zenpunk. It is an IMMENSELY enjoyable earphone (the newer version). If you like darker/warmer sound, give them a chance, you'll grow into them as did i. Have you tried swapping with a better cable? IMO, it makes quite a difference.

I am using a Silver Dragon but I still remain unconvinced wether cable really make a difference. It just take too long to swap cable to reliably compare. :(

No doubt, the S-EM6 is an outstanding IEM that easily compete with all the top dogs IEM/CIEM.

Are these useable out of the usual ipod's and clip plus or do they need something with a bit more oomph behind them?  I'm torn between giving customs another go (which hasn't gone well in the past) and saying **** it and getting something like this and having done with it once and for all.  I tend to listen to rock and metal along with audiobooks out of the aforementioned players for around 5-6 hours a day.  Thing is £650 (these are now available in the uk from hifi headphones and actually work out cheaper than japan!) is an awful lot to spend on iems when you haven't heard them.
