In my case it is quite comfortable since I have found right ear tips.
I am using Westone True Form now but others are saying Westone Star tips (Silicone) are also good.

I think the tip choice is more crucial for s-em6 than for other IEMs, sonically as well as comfort-wise.

Yes, thats what I hear as well for other deep insert in ears of the like. I hear that Shure olive foams are suppose to be sublime. Going to try them over the weekend on my 64's.

For me the SM64 fits better, but the S-EM6 isn't an issue.  The shape is made to accommodate a large range of ear sizes, and my ears are big, so the fit isn't ideal, but I could learn to live with them no problem.  I doubt I could say the same for the K3003, for example.

Per EarSonics, it was discovered that the original S-EM6 run had a series of small problems. They have improved the manufacturing process and increased testing and the Crystal version performs as intended. The differences between my original S-EM6 and the replacement Crystal are significant. With the original, some treble instruments were pushed very far back and the sound was dark and just different; not what I was expecting. I preferred the SM64 sound signature by a large margin. The new S-EM6 is noticeably superior to the SM64, and even the EM4 in many ways.

What can you do if you are a S-EM6 owner? Fortunately/unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, you can send your S-EM6 back for testing, and if there is an issue they will replace it with a Crystal that is functioning properly.  Dealers can send them back for you, but you will have to work out turn time with them.

So you would grade the new S-EM6 above the EM4 in terms of grade? This is quite high. I do not know which version I had for a few weeks, but while it did nothing wrong, it was hard to get excited over it...a bit to smooth and mellow sig to me.

My overall score will be close, but not quite as high as the EM4, maybe a 1 point difference.  The S-EM6 loses points compared with the EM4 primarily because of bass capability and dynamics, which would be better in a customized version.  The overall sound is more neutral and coherent, with a smoother treble region and what I consider a more natural sound.

Hey Joe, how would you compare S EM6 to SE5way?

That is no doubt (), I was just trying to understand, whether it is worth to get EM6 while you have SE5way or not. I somehow like EarSonics, in the future I am probably gonna get one of their ciems. If EM6 really sounds similar to SE5way, I might try EM32 or maybe another product that they will bring to the market.

Tupac says EM6 is like SE5way in steroids but I just can't imagine how the impact would be on the sound.

Well to me S-EM6 is definitely not on steroids, more like on tranquilizers...

Comparing the SE5 and S-EM6, the SE5 sounds more linear in presentation and slightly more analytical.  The S-EM6 midrange is more forward than the bass and treble in comparison, and presents with a more laid-back and larger space.  Technically, the SE5 smokes the S-EM6 in the bass region which, IMO, is primarily due to the custom vs. universal fit.  The S-EM6 does have more enhanced bass, but that is quickly neutralized or even reversed with bass heavy tracks due to the bass capability of the SE5.  If you like vocals, the S-EM6 may be a better fit from a sound signature perspective.  Score wise, you can see the SE5 score here and the S-EM6 is in the 84 range.

Wow, thank you joe, great explanation. I think I will skip EM6, maybe another flagship from EarSonics can suit better to me, either EM32 or their future products.

The EM32 kill the EM6 and the S-EM6. The are based on the EM4 performance and the EM32 is the latest ES' product that have the last improvement in terms of sound capabilities. The EM6 is to my mind not anymore the flagship because the EM32 brings more details, a better sense of deepness, more analytical and more natural because not focused on vocals like EM4 and even more the EM6. But the EM6 is very fun and clearly on steroids.

On their web they categorize EM32 for Musicians whereas EM6 / S-EM6 for Audiophiles.

This explains the difference in sound.

EM6 should be their flagship in the audiophile category I guess. They are tuned differently for different purposes.

Be ridiculous alone, please. I owned EM4, EM6 and now I own the EM32, and I exactly know what I've in my ears. And don't say what I don't have said ! I never said em32 was better than em6 because of the number, it's just idiot... You don't know me so be respectful ;-/

It's an habitual thing with earsonics, the em6 was at the beginning a professional monitor, now it's presented as an audiophile product. The EM32 is clearly made for a professional use, but their qualities match audiophile criterias.
