I really really like the "electroacustic abomination" calles SM64 :)
But this SM128...way too expensive for me. (and maybe too expensive in general? The old Shure se846 problem...)

I'm rather fond of the SM64 myself. Despite the diminishing returns that very likely come with moving up from it to the S-EM6, I'm still looking forward to hearing what EarSonics has to offer at this level. Plus I find this form factor (the 'universalized custom' or amorphous shelled universal) to be comfortable for me generally.

I have tried them, but only briefly and not enough for me to give any reliable impressions on the sm 64 XD. Maybe it could be due to me beig used to my jh13 which is a little v shaped in sound.

I'm curious if the shells will be solid like the custom monitors versus hollow like pretty much everything else?

The shell will normally be very solid, more than a CIEM, that's what Max Capgras told me. It's expensive, but EarSonics mean their product is as good as their competitor, and even better, so they took the price at this level. I will hear it next week, if it is as good as my EM6 I don't know what I'll do... but clearly, no innovative things is not bad, sometimes the simpliest way is the best if it works well.

The customer service was so bad before Max Capgras recruitment, it's true. But now EarSonics has a true customer services with empathy and understanding,so you can go ahead with this man

It might be the first 6 that they are aware of.

It is the first 6 driver universal if you exclude demo / universal versions of customs and some experimental or one shot stuff from Rhapsodio for instance. But that hardly means anything. Many people prefer the UERM over the UE18 for instance, and there are many such examples. What we are waiting to see in my humble opinion is if they worked magic in terms of tuning.

I asked them about the Em6 Custom and the reply was

" September 14th we will release a new product that will please you much"

Good customer service.

Oh man...looks like my next upgrade is going to be a new IEM.

Hmmm maybe I could talk to Earsonics and ask them if it's okay if I just buy another SM64, send mine over to France and they frankenstein both together to an EM6 (SM128).

Friend of mine also took some pictures of S-EM6

Thanks for the pics.  I thought the lettering would be a bit nicer than that.

It's laser-engraved and filled with paint. It looks ok in person.

Yes the lettering is disappointing but I hope those sounds great. Just ordered a pair :D

I will have to admit I am already slightly disappointed by Earsonics' customer service. After forking out £800, they didn't even bother to send an automated email thanking me about my purchase or offering to help if I have any problem with it. Although, It was dispatched the same day I paid.

Poor practice and it does not inspire confidence in their company in my book. These French people have no manner!.

These are some high-level complaints right there :D

Congratulations on your purchase ;)

Oh and I'm sure if we aaaalll complain about the atrocious lettering, they will offer an upgraded version with a different faceplate.
That strategy worked twice so far!
