I know the price is not the same, but we also all know Fitear iems are "overpriced" because you pay for the "exclusive" aspect and also awesome build quality. So it seems realistic to think that sound quality is comparable.

Rollk2, have you ever tried the 335 ?

Never tried but I well know 334 and Parterre. I don't think they're overpriced, it's Japan high-end, japanese ingeniors have designed it, so the price is relative and to my mind correct. The 334 are comparable with the EM4, they're little more expensive, but they're little better in treble (extension).

If 335 are just little bit better than S-EM6 but 300€ more expensive, it's perhaps a little bit overpriced, but you know in audio, upgrade are everytime expensive...

However mids are quite recessed, especially its low mids. Bass is just so so with more emphasis on the mid bass, either that masks the sub bass or the lows actually rolls off early I don't know, but there wasn't much sub bass I could hear at that time. Overall the EM6 has nice sound stage, though it might get quite artificial at times due to the recessed mids. Imaging is a bit sub par also due to the lack of low mids and upper bass, as well as sub bass. Note that I always stay at low to moderate volume so my impression might deviate from those listened at loud volume.

Will it improve with an amp and a better source than my lowly Ipod touch 4? Will the custom version a big step up from the demo (with deep insertion, my ears are fairly big so it's not hard to reach the 1st bend)? No idea, but all the FitEar's I tried (Parterre, TG334, 335 demo) wiped the floor with it.

Recessed mid?.....Sorry but what?...:-/ Must be an error... listen to almost every feedback about ES and especially EM6 and you'll see that you are the only one to ear that. Don't say that it's impossible but really really strange because the EM6 is well known to be a mid centric/balanced CIEM. Mids on EM6 and S-EM6 are to me full bodied, well textured and realistic.

Sorry if my post is a little bit late about this feedback but had to react.

So it's is okay for them to be more expensive because they were designed in Japan? That sounds odd.
And does that mean I can slap a higher price tag on my product if I say it's made in Germany?

My S-EM6 sounds absolutely nothing like tranhieu's description. I was lucky to try the custom 334 and 335 and those appeared to have very forward mids compared the EM6 so appeared to be quite a bit more detailed and transparent but S-EM6 has the most realistic soundstage and imaging. The EM6 also appeared to be more linear in the  bass and to extend lower (note that the Fitear were somebody else customs that I had to push  into my ears)

Agreed. Maybe the source (Ipod touch) just didn't work well with these. EM6  are 60 ohms after all.
