In my case it's tolerable but sibilant in some songs if I listen at higher volumes. Good news is the timbre is really good making all kinds of cymbals and percussion sound awesome. Note that I'm still at the stage of tip rolling. Tips do make a lot of difference in the DN 1000's case so I may find a fix. The bi flanges don't sound as sibilant for one.

As for h200 owners, it's not really an upgrade if soundstage isn't the priority. Did I tell you that my pair now sounds perfect to me after figuring out the filter mod to fix kimvictor's issue with that song of his? My H200 now sounds more controlled in treble vs the DN 1000! (Disclaimer: still in the process of finding the right tips for the DN 1k)

That's all rather interesting indeed! I should look into that filter mod of which you speak. Also, your cable probably factors in. And which tips are you using on your H200's? (sorry.. OT!)

Definitely the spc cable is a factor.
I posted the details on the H200 appreciation thread.

Rocky said that bigbargainonline is not Dunu's authorized dealer, but any HF-ers who bought from them, anything wrong just contact Rocky directly

Now that's interesting since bigbargainonline was for the longest the only dealer listed directed on Dunu's website when it provided a link as to where to buy the DN-1000. That makes no sense at all! That's how I found bigbargainonline, from the Dunu website. So they would provide a link to a dealer that's not their authorized dealer? Can someone explain this one to me?

This thread is more confusing every time I read a post in it.

Authorized dealer, or maybe not.

China vs. international versions..

Latest version is what is sold - international, or maybe not.

Okay, I'll wait for my ears to decide if I like them or not.

Might worth to PM Rocky himself, this is what he said to me on PM

BTW The seller you bought is not our official retailer. Recently we might announce that we won't provide RMA service to those who purchase from not authorized retailer.

However, If you need RMA service, please let me know. I will manage it for you lol.

If the site hasn't changed since then, are you referring to the "Where to buy" link on the right-hand side of this page? That link is just a direct link to search results for keyword "dunu" on eBay, leading to results from ANY seller of DUNU products on eBay. It does seem kind of shady to lead people to purchase off of eBay if there's no way of telling a dealer is authorized or not, but at least it seems Rocky is willing to cover them anyway.

Like I stated, I'm over it. I have the earphone. It sounds very good. There's a warranty in the box that I expect Dunu to honor if something goes wrong. This authorized seller/non authorized seller ,  International/non-international model, and changed the sound/but didn't really do too much in changing the sound is a big marketing mess - in my opinion -  by Dunu. Why wouldn't those who bought your flagship earphone not want to hear what you consider the best  sound to be after you tweaked it a bit? Now I'm not so sure I have the recent version, but I'm over it and will live with the version I have. But that doesn't make me feel confident about doing business with Dunu anymore. Things seem very misleading (even if it's not the company's intentions to mislead). Just my opinion.

OMG!!! This is an awesome IEM!

Huge... Massive sound!

Took me a while to find the right tips but alas! Meelec M9 Bi-flanges are the best tips for me.

No more sibilant SSSSS's! I can't even find something to complain about at this very moment!

Things to take note once you have your Dunu DN-1000:

1. Take your time in finding the right tips. Don't settle unless you're definitely sure you have nothing else to complain about. You'll be surprise how this IEM's sound varies depending on the tips, depth of insertion, and ring combination. I think the balance in the sound of the DNK is close to perfection once you find the right combination of tips, rings, and depth of insertion.

2. Experiment with different rings and combinations. I use either RED or BLUE+SILVER (My personal preference is a lesser bass quantity). Shallow insertion works best for me.

3. Don't get frustrated upon initial impression... this IEM can take a lot of your time; fiddling, tip rolling, ring swaps, and what not... remember: "Patience is a virtue".

Stay tuned for my H200 vs DN-1000 comparison. I can finally get to it; now that I've finally found the right tips.

EDIT: I'm using Meelec M9 tips; NOT M6 tips.

Looking forward to that. I find the level of bass perfect on the H200, so more than that would take it into 'bass phone' territory for me, which I'm not really after (already having the CKS1000, among others).
