Haven't heard UE900 mate so can't comment, but from the reviews I've read it is more of a Heir 4.Ai/Westone 4 kind of signature, sort of neutral-ish with good extension on both ends. DN-1000 is fun, fun, fun, in fact, it is probably the most fun IEM that I have heard

After the first 5-6 days introductory period, my ears/brain adjusted, then any tunes, any genre put a smile on my face...

Well, the UE900s I was looking at were $209 in the FS section but got snapped up literally minutes before I could, lol.

I've settled on the reinforced silicon tips + red rings. This combo seems to work best for me.

And on the topic of fit/seal, for my ears at least, I get a better seal wearing these over-the-ear than cable-down.

How comfy are these over the ear? That is my preferred way for pretty much any IEMs/earbuds as they are much easier to keep in and reduces microphonics.

I let one of my mate who's not exactly technical in music auditioned DN-1000 for a day, then the 3X for the next day, afterwards he said that he prefers the Dunu hands down...

The Dunu really is special, you other guys should be jumping straight onto them. I've been A/Bing the Dunu with much more expensive Unquie Melody 3X this afternoon and lets just say the results although mixed are quite surprising. It's not everyday a $200 hybrid comes along and starts challenging some serious competitors.

For myself at least, it's comfortable enough that they almost seem to disappear when I wear them. I say "almost" because the housings are a little bit big relative to my ears. For comparison, the most comfortable IEMs I have had were HF5s with their tri-flange tips and the GR07 with its articulating nozzle.

:beerchug:

3X is technically better and more proficient then Dunu IMHO, though Dunu holds its own on some certain criteria, anyone who doesn't care of that and just want a pure unadulterated fun listening session, head bobbing and foot tapping, head straight to Dunu, you won't be dissapointed for sure...

I personally wear them over ear, and I think it is more comfortable that way

Don't say anything to your bank before you have a session with it yet mate...

I wear them over the ear as well. Wearing them down hurts after about 2 hours.

So, someone recommended me the DN-1000 as a replacement for my dearly departed TF10. :'( And apparently DN-2000 is coming out soon. Should I wait or not?

No one can say anything before the evaluation units of the DN-2000 are distributed, but from the knowledge is that DN2K will be tuned towards flatter response, maybe closer to reference point, whereas DN-1000 is the fun-tuned one, and it is superbly fun indeed, as you can read from all the previous posts

What do you mind by fun? Flat = neutral right? Sorry for the silly noobish question. :D Still have a lot to learn about these audio stuffs. When is the DN-2000 coming out?

Fun = a more "U" or "V" shaped response, as opposed to "flat".

And if I remember right (from a post some pages back), I think the DN-2000s are coming out (late) February.
