Dunu DN-1000 - Dunu's hybrid IEM - Impressions thread - Page 34

I reckon the DX50 would pair better than the X3 having heard both.

Switched from the spiral tips to the pure transparent ones yesterday, finding the sound much better - the bass punch I'd been missing is now there, and the whole sound is a bit less soft. Red rings again after having the blue for a couple of days.

How's the isolation on these?

Around average.

I see. As many probably know I was looking at these as an upgrade from my Zero Audio Carbo Basso and I dunno how well those are considered to isolate compared to other IEMs.

Isolation depends somewhat on tips and spacers, but it won't ever be better than average. But they're no worse than the Bassos.

i also switched from the blue foam to the middle transparent ones with red rings, it sounds much better and more bass now

I'm more concerned about sound leaking out rather than sound leaking in. I listen on medium to high volume.

You won't get sound leakage.  They still isolate pretty well - just not in the 'excellent isolation league" (eg Shure SE535)

I see. Anyone else wear them straight down for extended periods and find them comfortable? I'll be sitting down a lot using them if it matters.

However, I am really interested in the X1(mostly for its outlook) but I don't really wanna wait another year. What do you guys think?
Use the Clip+ for a year and get X1 next year, get a X3, or get a cheaper DAP like the C3 and replace it with X1 when its released?

The X3 is the way to go, I ordered one this week and waiting to see how good it is. Just couldn't be bothered to wait for the X1, even though it really looks good!

I think Carbo Tenore fall into that category, and so do Yamaha EPH100. That's another topic though.

I received my pair today. What a sweet pair of IEM's this things are. I also noticed the transparent tips with red rings are the best pair. Although I didn't stop there. I tried the middle ones that come with the TF10 and got what I consider the ultimate sound. Soudstage opened up and clarity is just excellent. Bass is tight and deep. I think it might be worth giving it a shot, guys.

I would also want to know about the comparison. I heard the X3 is better than the DX 50 with more power etc., the only thing I dont like about the X3 is its outlook and the UI of DX50 seems to be better. I also heard X3 has a warmer sig while DX50 is more neutral and cold, but I guess thats just personal preference

The DX50 has more detail, better separation and soundstage.

The X3 has more power I think but you sill have no problems at all driving the DN-1000.
