Yes, over ear only for me. I dislike wearing any iem down.

The DN1000 is a fantastic value.

OK I'm pretty certain I'm about to bite the bullet and get these. What is the seller that everyone is using in the states?

Man, were these magical

for 15 minutes. Then the left side made a popping noise and everything out of it now sounds ultra-staticky and a few decibels quieter. I imagine there's no fix for this.

Has anyone tried fitting the Shure olive tips to DN1K's? If so, do they impact the SQ in any way? I have some trouble fitting the stock foam tips that the Dunu's came with, so before ordering Complys I would like to see whether there are less expensive options.

Pretty sure they won't fit.  DN-1000 has much wider bore than the Shure SE series.

Couldn't they be decored in order to fit?

Yep sure - but the DN-1000 has no lip to keep them on.  You could try it - but I'd imagine you might have fun keeping them on .....

Alright, thanks, I will sacrifice a pair of Shure tips then.

Besides Complys and one of the JVC tips, are there any other decent foam tips compatible with these IEMs?

The DNK has one of the widest nozzles I've seen on an IEM vs the tiny ones the olives are made for. Your best bet would probably be to remove the hard rubber core of the olive and just stretch the foam enough. Would be cool if it works. I've found the Olives influence the sound the least out of any foam tip.

As for fit - Comply was much more comfortable and easier to fit for me than the dunu foams (my canals are size M).

+1 on Comply - they also managed to stay on the DN-1000 consistently.

Hi dear friends,
This is my first post in this thread, but I have nearly read the last 30 pages of it.
I have decided to buy this piece of beauty, but still have some concerns about the stiffening cable problems. It seems that the problem has been solved in the newer batches of the headphones, but my question is how to recognize the newer batches from the old ones?
And also does anybody know some reliable retailers in sydney to buy from( not online possibly). I have only found the http://www.a1futureshop.com.au/ so far.
Thanks

Hello, fellow Australian person.

I would suggest buying from Penon Audio who have the newer batches, depending whether the weak Australian dollar is still worth it to you.

http://penonaudio.com/DUNU-DN-1000

$209 USD = $263 AUD (at this current time) pushing the limits of worthyness IMO.

The other place you found is the 'only' place I know of who stocks these brands in Australia, I cannot guarantee he has newer batches nore guarantee he would tell the truth anyway (if he didn't). So my suggestion is to purchase from Penon Audio who have free shipping and usually take about 11-12 days to Australia.

Alternatively, you could look at Dunu Titan 1 instead which is much cheaper and almost (if not) as good.

Thanks, I will take a look at Penon Audio and also try to ask from the former which batch they have in stock.

As I know the Titan 1 is semi-open, therefore it'll leak more sound, and also it is brighter than DN1Ks. So my first priority is the DN1K.

I must say DN-1000 is magical with blue spacers and the largest foam tips provided for me. Coming from GR-07 MKII, the difference is pretty big.
