I realize it would be comparing dynamic to BA but I'm just curious. I have the Westone 4R but have always wanted to try the SM64 due to good reviews and many of them besting the 4R. However, I'm always looking for a good deal and the DN-1000 sounds like a good buy/complement to the 4r. To give an idea of my taste in sound signature, I also have the GR07 BE but find the 4R to be more euphonic and engaging to my ears. The GR07 is very balanced, warm and sweet but somewhat lifeless compared to the 4R. So, does anyone have any thoughts on the SM64?

I don't have the SM64 but I do have SM3 v2, I'm not sure how different/similar they are, and I can say that compared to the SM3 v2, DN-1000 is a lot more versatile, and much more fun, as well as better bass quaility. SM3 v2 is very thick and creamy, which could be a negative aspect to quite a lot of people

Fantastic review mate as usual.

I think it's time to create AX-30/AX-35 own thread?

Perhaps, but I'm not really one for creating threads so I guess I'll leave it to someone else.

Guys, what's a good DAP for the Dunu's? I had a Walkman Z series but bricked the thing. Right now I'm using an old iPod Touch and the sound is not too bad. But I'd like to get a new DAP. I've read mark2410's review on the Fiio X3 but apparently, the Dunu's sound somewhat subdued. I've thought of getting an iPod classic 5G but apparently, even with the iMod it's not that great compared to other players. I'm just so confused on which player will pair nicely with them..

What're you priorities with regards to a DAP? Sound quality? UI? Storage space? File playback?

Fiio x3 has an excellent synergy with them😎

He asked to have the DN1k to pair with a nice "sound"ing DAP. I think X3 will do some justice as many have quoted.

No. He said "good" DAP. I'm trying to find out what "good" constitutes. For some its SQ, for others UI, and still others, storage space.

PS. He even goes onto to mention that the X3 subdues the sound. So recommending the X3 probably isn't very helpful. :)

I'm also interested in this as well...

i currently have a CF-modded, film capped iMod video 5g.. and itching to see if another DAP would make these babies shine even more... Would it matter that I'm primarily pairing these with a JDS Labs C5?

Are there any deals out there on these IEMs or is the $209 on eBay the best bet?

I'm considering selling one of my DAPs, but I want to hear the DN-1000s first.
