Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Question

Hey all,

I recently got the Beyer COPs, and they're my first 'real' headphones (major company that puts out quality stuff).  However, I'm having an issue, and I can't tell if it's my headphones or what I'm trying to run the headphones on.

I have an HTC One, and iPod Nano, and my PC.  I mainly use the headphones with my nano or the HTC.  However, with both of them, at lower volume levels I get a MUCH different level of sound out of each ear.  Also, at specific volume levels (just over half) on the HTC, I get a vibration in the right earcup when there is heavy bass, which isn't present in the left ear cup.

I was wondering if this was a faulty pair of headphones, or is the issue arising because i don't have any amp whatsoever or something like that?  However, the HTC One does have a built-in amp, but it's probably not great.

Any help is appreciated

Does the right earcup less loud than the left when the volume is lowered?  If so there could be a piece of debris perhaps from shipping stuck on the driver.  Try gently vacuuming the right earcup out and see if that fixes it.

It may also be the output stages of your portable devices.  Do you have a stereo receiver, perhaps a friend does, that you can plug your headphones into?

If all of the problems go away on a stereo receive then you know it is not the headphone.

I dont have a stereo receiver unfortunately :(

and yes, the right earcup is noticeably quieter than the left earcup, but when I hit a higher volume level, the right earcup 'steps up' to the same volume as the left driver.

And in terms of volume steps - that only applies to my phone, the ipod has a smooth volume adjustment bar
