T PEOS H-200 Mod!

If any of you were following the H-200 thread or read my review(before today), you would know that I really value H-200's technical capability, but not it's tuning. d marc0 suggested that I use foam as a filter to tame down the peak. Well, I didn't have foam, so I did it with a tissue. With a ball of tissue in the eartips, the sound becomes much thicker and warmer. Mids increase greatly, the peak is completely gone, and treble is smoothened. The best part of this mod? You can control how much warmer you want the sound to be. By putting in more tissue, the sound becomes more warm.

Also, don't worry about the tissue falling off in your ears, cause they don't. I've had mine in ears for an hour now, and it is in there safely. Just know that you will need more power to drive your H-200 once modded.

*This mod is very very cheap(a tissue!) and reversible. I guess it's worth a try.

^ Welp the natural questions that comes to mind is what brand of tissue, how much did you use and how thick it is, as well as how exactly did you rolled/ folded them. DEAD SERIOUS.

If you want a little more consistency for a mod like this, try getting a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, or the dollar store knockoffs.  They're made of open cell melamine foam, which is exactly the same as acoustic dampening foam.

I'm wondering if this has the same effect as using comply tips as they are already foam and can't be stuffed? Has anyone done a comparison between the stuffed silicone shown here and comply tips?

Good work kimvictor! The best part about this mod is it keeps earwax and dirt from getting into the nozzle. Happy listening!

Oh, BTW, if the amount of tissue you put in in each side is different, the sounds are different. I used normal kleenex tissue. The size of the tissue piece should be about the size of your pinky nail.
