Looking for portable headphones budget under $300

Thread Starter

I am looking for a good portable headphones that are not to bulky. Right now I have an AKG Q701 and I hardly ever bring them from my house and I would never bring them to school. So thats why I would like to get a good pair that could be safe and still sound good for portable use mostly on the bus or sometimes during class.

Things im looking for:

Price no higher than 300 preferably lower

Durable and not bulky

Portable little leak and good noise cancelation

Good highs and mids (I really love Highs for some reason)

Music I listen to:

EDM music from DnB, House, Glitch, Garage, or anything else really besides really heavy dubstep.

I also listen to rock and alternative music also like Led Zepplin, The Black Keys, Jimi Hendrix, etc.

Thanks for anyones suggestions

P.S. if anyone else loves chilling to EDM should look up MrSuicideSheep on Youtube he helps the producers get recognition and you can discover lots of new music you have been missing :)

Thanks for the ideas so far I have narrowed down my choices to:

Audiotechnica ATH-WS99

Sennheiser Momentum

KEF M500

I wish I had a way to sample these. I'm almost considering buying all 3 to sample them then pick my favorite.

I got a chance to try the Momentum at best Buy today and also the Audio Technica ESw9a which I like a lot(better than the Momentum I think). I still want to try the KEF-500 and also the AT Ath-es10 before I choose since I will not buy another pair in atleast a year most likely.

The first couple of times I demo'd the Momentums they sounded horrid, and someone suggested they were a defective pair,so today I tried a different shop coupled with an ALO International amp/DAC ...and yes the Momentums sounded much better than before, but on several tracks the bass was bloated and not tight...

Im still opting for the KEF500s for my daily walkarounds
