Looking for the right headphones

Hey everyone, I'm looking for some new headphones and I'd really like to get a pair that best suits me but unfortunately, I don't really know much about headphones. I mainly listen to Rock, Metal, Hip Hop, R&B, as well as some techno and house music(mostly tiesto and hardwell). My budget is 300-400 and I'd preferably like portable headphones since I do like styling a bit but sound quality does mean most to me. Does anyone know a good pair of over the ear headphones that are good for me?

What kind of a sound are you looking for? Do you like strong bass, or are you more drawn to the vocals and instruments? Or are you looking for something that doesn't emphasize any particular part of the music?

Also, since you're leaning toward portable headphones, I'm assuming you need them to block out sound, meaning you're looking for something closed-back as opposed to open.

Also, what will you be plugging your headphones into? There are plenty of headphones which a smartphone or portable music player will power just fine, but some models require a bit more power to get up to volume and reach their full sonic potential. There are portable and desktop headphone amps for this purpose.

I guess I'm looking for sound that is complimented on every level. I definitely prefer vocals and instruments however i would like some form of bass, just enough so i feel it a little and i know it's there. Noise isolation is a plus and i don't want too much noise leakage so I'd definitely prefer closed-back. I also wouldn't mind buying a headphone amp, the idea of having one sounds really cool!

Look into the Amperior's. Amazing for your genres.
