No, but I do have a ceiling fan on and I do not hear it with headphones on.  Open headphones still isolate some, enough to block out all ambient noise for me.  It's not like there's just holes from the outside into your ears :)

 

last thing *anyone respond* will the sound blaster z provide all the positional accuracy i need... ive ended up deciding on the ad700 but i mean i want to make sure they work well.. what sound card would compliment them the best for around 100$?

I really do not think you could do better then the Sound Blaster Z for under $110.

Get the Sound Blaster Z, version # SB1500, $95 (comes with an add-on mic).

Or Sound Blaster Zx, $112, comes with an external headphone jack, mic jack, & volume knob device that's sits on the desk.

Routing sound through the external controller of the Zx has been known to reduce sound quality, just an FYI

Sound out of the Z itself is great. I was just talking about the external controller that comes with the Zx, as pictured to the right of the card here:
