Custom charges are ALWAYS a risk whoever sends the product to you. A smaller reseller (like PriceJapan) might be willing to "compromise" on declared value whereas amazon would not. They would not even send it anyways. In terms of guarrantee, you would have an international Sony guarrante I suppose...not sure about that.

never once paid customs fees as previously posted a few pages back. warranty is honoured worldwide according to sony uk when i spoke with them about a previous japanese player before importing. might have been BS but i was willing to take the risk. really comes down to how much you enjoying playing risk.

Yes, you mentioned EMS, e.t.c.

Not sure if i'd use the term "enjoying" ! lol I wonder what customs charges there would be on an item at this price ? Only ever ordered cd's e.t.c.....heaviest charge being £24, if I recall correctly ?

The way I look at customs is that if you factor in the "hit" of customs to start with and are happy to pay that's fine.  Then if you don't get stung you get a nice little bonus!

Hey, I thought sony was going to discontinue the walkman line altogether.

Did they change their mind?

Anakchan - Can you also post the link for the limited edition leather case please. Thanks.

Whats this '3 year wide warranty' option that's on price japan? Not really explained very well.

To my knowledge, you get a comprehensive 3 year warranty if you buy directly from Sony or their physical store....this covers against elements like water even.  I don't think you can get in on that warranty if you purchase through other venues.

I think that the question was referring to the fact that you can pay extra at Price Japan and get some sort of warranty, but no information about that warranty is given. I am sure it's some standard replacement plan, like what any store sells.

A real review of the ZX1 and F880 with sound quality comparison between them and with F800, AK100 MKII and AK120.

It doesnt need a review to point out AK120 sounds better than Ak100 or NZ1 is better than F880....
Haha, yes, the question is do I keep my preorder of the zx1?

It cracks me up that the Japanese reviewer claims 10W output for the F880 and 15W for the ZX1.  That would be awesome, but alas, he's mistaken by a factor of 1000.
