Sony NWZ-ZX1 - 35th Walkman Anniversary model - Page 380

Guys, from the photos I have of the PHA-2 I assume its a straight hookup to the ZX1 using the stock USB-to-WM-Port connector into the 'Digital In' USB port on the PHA-2 ? Sony have the PHA-2 listed at 20K baht here in Thailand - not an insignificant amount of money but it makes more sense than any of the other portable DAC/amps out there when paired with the ZX1.

I can use my ADL X1 in this configuration with my iTouch but it doesnt work with the ZX1 - clearly, Sony have some kind of handshaking feature between ZX1 and PHA-2 to stop the DAP going into 'USB Storage' mode.

Not guaranteed to be OK but these cables for Algorhythm Solo -dB might work for the mini USB input of ADL X1 as well

I just got the PHA-2 during lunchtime today and the hookup is on the leftmost connector with the ZX-1. I haven tried using the USB (ios products) USB port though and will do so tonight. I think some tweaking on the software would do the trick?

I have a similiar problem to what varycold posted with regards to the 3.5mm port. Just a slight tug and the 3.5mm jack comes dislodged very easily, tried it with a few difference jacks and all were the same. Seems like most of you guys doesnt have this problem. I will probably live with it though and till the day it cant hold anymore then I will send it in for repairs.

There's two ways to connect to the PHA-2 the front via H/O & L/O and from the rear via USB & Sony's proprietary USB, the photo below shows the front... btw I'll be selling my PHA-2 in the next week for the sole reason that I want to fund a new project, one of my Walkman's will go as well just gotta decide which one, the F887 or ZX1.

this is L/O WM-Port>mini-Jack,
