Just ordered this.  Hope there is enough space underneath the player for my earphones (it has integrated cable management).

That looks to be a very time-consuming storage method.

I'll only use the case for transportation and storage. When I'm using the player I'll remove it altogether. I only ever listen to portable gear at a work desk or at home.

Does the player shake around inside the case?

No, I don't think so - there are two strips of foam attached to the lid that apply pressure.

Does it fit other DAPs besides the iPhone?

Not sure to be honest - I checked the dimensions on the Pelican website to make sure the NWZ-ZX1 would fit though.  I was after a case that would take care of both the player and (relatively) expensive IEMs

I keep both separate in case both get lost.

- Has someone tested listening to  Qobuz with the ZX1  ( or using any other HIGH-RES  radio or streaming site )

thanks

I suggest you buy the AK480, its a massive 1TB of storage.

1. If I am listening to ALAC, does using DSSE improve the sound quality? And what is DSSE is it really a hardware boost or some gimmick?

2. And with ClearSound+, is it just some EQ?

1) I'm not sure exactly how it does it, but I'm pretty sure it's a software based thing. It is advertised to improved compressed music only. I leave it off no matter what.
2) Correct.

More info Joshua :-

"The DSEE (Sound Enhance) function is not effective for songs with a file format that is not compressed, or songs that are of high bit rate with no treble loss."

Thanks. So now I can switch it off and save battery life. Funny thing is why would they have that function in a player designed to play high resolution files? redface.gif

Cos the player isn't solely for hires files. e.g. I have anything from 192kbps lossy to 24/192 lossless on my ZX1. This is just my personal point of view but I see the ZX1 as attempting to bridge the gap of regular audio enthusiasts and audiophiles.
