if your happy with something why change?, my thinking anyway.

I can save you £800 on a UK AK240 price... it'll cost you £150 for the link.

Anyone know where I can get a screen protector for the ZX1? the used one I had was damaged so I couldn't use it, but the bare glass on the ZX1... is so... unfriendly to fingers? It just doesn't glide as well as my idevices. I'm trying to find a new, yet affordable, screen protector to use.

Amazon?

I dont know if ZX1 has a camera, if not you can always get a bigger phone screen protector and cut it to fit properly.

nothing new with that.

Plus R&D, marketing, have to pay a host of salaries to get it to market.

And all of that still doesn't determine price. Supply and demand determine price. Then a comparison of price vs. cost of production goes in to the decision of if you should actually make the thing.

IMHO that's cheaper to go through Amazon ourselves and then send the package directly a forwarding service

http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/offer-listing/B00FF071I4

69,800 yen + 2,400 yen for international shipping to North America + 150 yen handling fee = 72,350 yen (700 bucks or so) plus currency conversion fees charged by the bank and Visa / MasterCard etc.

Personally I don't think I would consider Price Japan whenever something could be ordered via Amazon on my own. Of course Price Japan should be fantastic when I actually can't find that listed on Amazon to begin with.

My credit card company doesn't even charge any currency conversion fees at all and I'm only paying Visa 1% for the conversion. That's why it's well worth the time to do our homework before we get a credit card for purchases with different currencies.

Fair point and something I will look into, thanks for the info.

@reginalb What are the IEM's in your avatar? Cant find the picture in your list of devices?

Also, how do the AKG Q701's sound with the ZX1? Looking for some reference headphones matched to the ZX1, without spending the earth! :)

Well, I ended up pulling the pin on one but from PriceJapan rather than buying the local Australian product. Why? I still like the idea of having ATRAC support, even if it is at the expense of another $100 and no free expensive headphones.

Can't wait to get it.

Hi res or through USB battery drain faster

This is good news. That stuff earlier in the thread must have been a faulty battery.

Yeah, it's really not bad. I get a full day out of it, and I'm not doing anything special to preserve battery life. I run it with wifi connected all the time, regularly streaming music, use the bluetooth connection in the car, etc.

Leave it plugged in and then use a point and press the re-set. It should boot up after about 15-30 mins and then start charging. Use a stronger charger rather than a USB port.

It has happened to me a few times. The first time I thought I had bricked the ZX1:(

Hi spkrs01:

Unfortunately, this did not seem to do the trick for me.  I tried a variety of combinations of reset and power button, and the device seems unresponsive so far :-(  Any other ideas?  Is there some magic button combo to force it to power up?  I've essentially left it connected to a power source for days now.  One possibility could be the cable...?

Update:  Right after I posted this, I finally see a "charging" icon on my device!  I'm going to let it (hopefully) charge through the day and see if that does the trick...

Oh great news....

It is a shame the battery management is poor comparatively. I hope all goes well from here on.

For me I avoid letting the ZX1 totally discharge anymore.
