Is there any up to date info on ATRAC compatibility?

If it results in a decent reduction in file size it might be worth the hassle of a convoluted conversion process...

I just found out yesterday that on top of us Australians getting a super price here on the ZX-1 of $699.00Aud, Sony Aust. is offering a set of headphones into the mix. For once we get a really good deal and I miss out. I feel ripped off buying from Price Japan!!!!!!!!!

I love my PHA - 2, no problem whatsoever with caps and can use pretty much anything with it smily_headphones1.gif

Yeah the headphones were the clincher for me yesterday, RRP of $179.95 is a MASSIVE bonus.

I plan to just sell them unopened, which will reduce the price of the DAP by another $100-150. That is if I can resist the temptation to give them a try.

They seem like decent phones from what I briefly saw, a smaller version of the MDR-1.

Hmmm... I will have to look into how easily I can convert my MP4s.

Is ATRAC significantly smaller file size than FLAC?

From memory atrac was more cpu intensive but it was incredibly small. maybe 34-40% of the original file.

I use Atrac Advanced Lossless... smaller than WAV but slightly bigger than Flac... I use SonicStage 4.3 to convert my CD's.

Did you order early, as I understood they had stock on the 17th but only 20 units.

As I cancelled my first order (within the 20) to use the 20% discount for owning a Sony phone/tab I seemingly went out of the first 20 batch.

I must say, with stock in Germany etc, who only gets 20 units in a batch delivery; guess they really didn't expect to sell many

Mine says delivery today or Monday, but I am not expecting it as its not shipped yet

Getting impatient to use it now :D

Are any of the apps out there for iphone (onkyo, westone) available on android, any thoughts of using them on the ZX!?
